Siggie Makers

There are quite a few retired makers around, myself included. I hung up my hat on siggies probably almost 2 years ago!

i haven't in a few weeks, but i hang out at justmommies.com and make them. since i've discovered this place, i don't do many siggies much, lol. I check in from time to time just to say hi though.

Honestly, I stopped because I was starting my own business at the time and I just couldn't let siggies get in the way of my "job". I haven't gone back because after taken up digi-scrapping, I would much rather spend the time on something for my family and my kids.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED doing sigs because it was something nice for others, but I was finding more and more people that just took the hard work that it was for granted.

Yeah i hear ya on that one, i run a mom forum and im the only siggie maker really, its just expected that i do it on demand and asap.

I used to do them all the time, but now I don't have as much free time. I still make them, for good online friends only.

I used to do them for an online gaming community and then for the NSBR board at 2peas back in 2005 but havent done any sigs (except my own now and then) since starting digi scrappin :)

It was fun tho back in the day!

Me too, that's how I met Jac, Karrina, Rochelle, Vanessa and Katrina, through siggie making.

I just actually retired today officially, though I haven't made for awhile. I really still like to do it, but I'm running out of time for all the things I want to do, and I had to hang it up.

I used to make on iVillage at Sig Show and at the board a bunch of us founded when we left there. I do occasionally make them for my good friends, but on my parenting forum, I'm still wearing one from late February LOL

Definitely ditto to this. It used to take us sometimes an hour or two to make a siggie with animation and what not, and more often than not, we were taken advantage of and not thanked for what we did for others in our free time. There were some who were grateful, unfortunately, I ran into more that were the other way. Sad really, it was a great hobby for a lot of us.

Ditto what everyone else said. On occassion, I will make for myself, or a select few "regulars" or dear friends. I'd honestly much rather scrap, and I don't have time for some of the drama that goes along with it at certain places.

I was there with you too, Jamie!

You guys better watch out! *I* might start taking advantage of you now! :))

any of you make blinkies??? (my poor little happy face blinkie could use a bit of help LOL)

I can't even remember the last time I made a signature. I think it's been almost a year. I enjoy digital scrapbooking so much more and it's a hobby I believe to be well worth my free time. I had some wonderful regular requesters but there were plenty of times I'd feel taken for granted. I'm so glad to see all my old siggy making friends here, though.

I only know how to make the kind with blinking lights. La's current team blinkie was my first attempt at making the kind everyone sports here in digital scrapbooking land. :o

I used to make siggies for a few Yahoo groups I owned and for the SheKnows network. I stopped a few months after I discovered scrapping. LOL I have made a few for some girls on my mommies board lately, but that's it.

Shawna, I'm happy to try something for you, even thought I think the happy face is really cute!

The over-acheiver in me HAD to learn to make blinkies when I was a siggy maker! LOL!

Yep, I was a siggy maker from Feb 2005-July 2006, I retired when I finally started using my digital scrapping supplies for scrapping.

I found digi scrapping while making siggy's back in 2004/2005. I still make them for a parenting site ... but I make "scrap style" ones now. I don't have any of the "art" ones anymore.

I make blinkies too! I love doing them!

I actually just quit siggy making (had my own board with friends). I got tired of it for all the same reasons here. I would rather spend my time working on LOs!

Loved making siggys! they were so therapeutic! I actually also wrote tutorials and had them at an online site for tutorials. It's more fun doing something with my photos and making stuff for gifts than just having a bunch of blank siggys on my hard drive LOL... anyone ever hear of Sweetest Harmony? that was the site where my tuts were....

I also was a sig tag maker.
I did it for almost three years, and once I found scrapbooking, I never looked back.
I just checked the properties on my last tag and I made it in June of 07.

I don't miss it at all.
I do however hate looking at the art I paid money to use that just sits on my hard drive...unused.

I used to when I started designing for my old mommy board, but got too busy working full time, family life and designing so didn't have the time to make them anymore.

I still live in both worlds of sig tags with psp and learning the ropes of scrapping with PSE6. There's room in both for me right now, though I find learning this new program rather exciting because it's so new to me.
So I guess that being said, yes, I'm still a tagger, lol. Never cared much for blinkies though:p
