If you have seen Sweeney Todd..

..and you know in detail about the scenes which are gory (blades and necks), could you please PM me with how many times this happens and if there are specific points in the movie when it occurs? Like..does it all happen where someone is IN the barber's chair or other places too? As many details as you can give me would be appreciated because I am a huge wuss when it comes to cutting scenes and we have the movie so I'd like to watch it. :) Thanks!!!

oh you're braver than I am. As much as I like Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter there is just no way I could see this (I think).

I have seen it ... wasn't as great as I thought it would be, even with Johnny!
Um, I think the only times besides when he has someone in the barber chair is about 30 minutes in, with Sasha Baren Cohen, when he confronts him in the barber shop - and the very end down in the boiler room-thingy.
Be prepared for LOTS of singing!!

Who cares. I'll be too busy watchin Johnny to care about skulls cracking and bloody things.

Oh, I looooove Sweeney Todd(and everything musicals related). A production of it was put on at the university I attended some classes at and I've been a huge fan ever since.
I actually didn't find it to be gory at all. The blood squirts out everywhere old horror movie style and it looks like red paint.

Ok well..when he does his throat slashings, is it like..slow and close-up or like one swift whack of the arm and poof? I know I sound like a dummy right now, but I seriously am traumatised by that junk!

I started to watch it a few days ago with my 16 yo son. At the first sign of gore and blood I got up and left the room and didn't go back. I do not like violent movies at all! Nope! I am too big of a wuss!

It's a great site to refer back to. We had to look up Sleepy Hollow when my 13 yr old's Social Studies teacher was showing it in class.

Oh, I am so sad about Sweeney Todd. I am a HUGE - and I mean HUGE - Stephen Sondheim fan! And Sweeney is one of my all-time favorites. Of course, the stage version can't show as much blood and guts as a movie version could. So, I have made the decision not to see this movie version because I don't want to see all the gore. It is hard to resist the temptation of a show that I love so much and know inside and out. But, I can listen to the music anytime I want, and watch my DVD of the stage production, and I can live without seeing it in full-color yuck. It's just a movie after all and life goes on. Sigh!

Ugh!! How in the world am I going to watch this when I have just read all that? :( Damn you Tim Burton..damn you Johnny Depp!! Making me love you two and taking this opportunity away from me! Cold-blooded..literally!

The first character he kills, Pirelli, is slow and close-up but *most* of the rest are pretty quick. I'm not a fan of really gross and bloody horror movies myself. I really wouldn't classify Sweeney Todd as a horror flick. It's just very dark and sinister.

Haha - Manda, you're too cute! Tim Burton has a way of making everything SO gorey it's not really believable. I think you'll be okay. I've seen it and we own it - I can't say I'd watch it again just b/c I didn't particularly love the movie but the amount of blood that comes out of the "victims" is really so exaggerated it's truly un-bel-iev-able! I found myself saying "Oh PLEEAAASEEE! That would NEVER happen!" a lot.
