Why are there repeat layouts in the gallery??

I was just looking at the "recent photos" in the gallery, and some layouts appear 2 or 3 times. Just curious why that is -- are people posting in more than one place or does the gallery automatically repeat them in more than one place? Is it ok to post more than once?

If people use the "additional categories" option, it uploads it however many times to put them into each category.

Here's a tip...don't have "members gallery" as one of your choices...no matter WHICH category you put it in, it will show up in your members gallery. So if you have to upload it for a CT layout, put it directly into your CT category, not the members gallery AND the CT category. That way it only uploads once. :)

It shows up on the second page when you're uploading. The first page you tell it where on your computer to find it, and you pick one category...and you can type in the title and description. It brings up a second page, right...and on that, next to the thumbnail, near the top, it has additional category pull-down lists to choose from. :)
 
Hey Bree, do you want us to load stuff with your templates into your inspiration gallery? I never do, but I can, lol.
 
Yeah...that way I'm sure to see them, lol! Every once in a while I do a search for my name, but I check my inspiration gallery every couple days. :)

So, if you want me to see your layouts or projects using my stuff, put it in my gallery! :D
 
Yeah, re: Bree's tip, I basically never load anything into Member's Gallery. Way back when (not here) I did, but I realized it showed up in my gallery no matter what. The biggest pain I find with the multiple uploads is the comments can get all split up. I like to reciprocate layout lovin' and it's harder to keep track.

I'm not sure if putting a layout in multiple galleries counts towards your maximum daily uploads? If it does, that's also a consideration for you fast scrappers that have lots to upload in a day.
 
I load everything into the designer's shoppe whether I'm on their CT or not - so if I do a layout using a Bree template and a Lauren Grier / Julie Billingsley collab, I put the layout into all 3 categories kwim?
 
I didn't know about not having to upload it into your members gallery too, that's a great tip. And I'm so new, I never give it a thought to posting things in the designer's galleries. I'm still getting used to finding out where all the galleries are and such. You bet I'll keep that in mind from now on.

So anyone can post in designer inspiration galleries? I thought that was only for CT members...but then I also didn't know about the not-needing-to-upload-to-your-member-gallery-because-it-will-show-up-there-anyway thing so I know nada.
 
well I thought it was ok - I remember seeing a designer one time mentioning something about looking at layouts posted in her gallery.....no one has told me not to and I do it all the time. I wonder if everyone is wondering why I keep doing it LOL
