Does anyone else not chat??

It always makes me smile to see these posts about which program to use and everyone panicking when Hello announced it's end and what works and doesn't.

Sometimes I really want to chat. I'd love to get to know some people I see around a lot, my designers and fellow CT members, but I just don't see how I could possibly have time for it. I already browse forums way too much when I could be scrapping and I'm so afraid it would be the same with chatting.

Am I the only one who doesn't? And for those of you that do, how do you do it all?

i just chat in little bits here and there. if i feel like I don't have time to chat or don't want to I just don't open my IM programs. It def does take up time but it's fun to get feedback on a layout or possible digi purchase.

I chat and scrap. Sometimes more successfully than others, but I figure if I'm struggling wtih the lo then it's not flowing and I should move to something else.

Sometiems itjust takes me a while to get a LO done when I chat at the same time. It's already a slow process for me sometimes, so I just don't care, lol. If I NEED to get something done, I don't sign on until it is. If that means no chatting that night, then so be it.

It's not a big deal to me.

I would love to chat with my CTs & such, but since Hello wasn't Mac compatible, I just got used to being out of the loop. I have an AIM account for iChat but I hardly use it. It takes up too much time, and I feel like I have to stay at my computer. And I don't get enough done as it is. But I may join in at sometime since I am a sucker for peer pressure :p

I don't chat, I don't really have time. :( And more than that, I'm afraid that even if I DID add people, and stuff, no one would want to talk to me!! *LOL* but I realize I miss out here a lot, and its harder to make friends when I don't chat... :(
Totally feel out of the loop here sometimes, but I'm slowly catching on. :)

i can attest for bree, she chats all day long :P i could not live without chatting. seriously i feel blocked when i try to scrap offline...rotfl! and if i am online, i am chatting rotfl!

I WOULD chat all day if I could but I try and keep it to a minimum unless I am not scrapping...which is all I do while my niece is sleeping and then again after 9:30 when 3 of my kiddos are in bed.....

If I'm online, my chat programs are on. I chat and scrap. :) I feel sort of lost without Meg, Shannon and Col. LOL

I used to chat online quite a bit, (in the rooms and on AIM) but with three little ones under the age of four, I don't have time to anymore.:(

I'm lucky to even post places anymore. I can click and read the posts much easier than replying to them nowadays.

I used to chat a lot with my playgroup friends, but not so much now. I was a SAHM not working so I had more time. Now that I WAH, I actually need to be WORKING LOL. So when I'm working I dont have any messengers signed in, it works best for me like that.

I have my chat program open most of the time, but I don't chat much. There are 2 people I chat with on a regular basis and DH is alwas on for his job so I message him a lot too. I'm not so good at initiating conversation in real life & am no better at it online. I like chatting with people, I'm just unlikely to start the conversation.

Although I have my MSN on all the time I never chat. I just get to sucked into it and I'd never ever get anything done or any of my kids fed!!!! :D

If I could learn to limit myself to an 1/2 hour or 1 hour window I might chat more, but I just have a hard time saying "good bye"!! :p

I'm not a big chatter... well, unless you count Jamie... LOL! But I'm not opposed to it because like others have said, I would love to get to know people better!

I don't chat with very many people. It is way outside the box for me to initiate a chat with someone I haven't chatted with before LOL and I worry that when people chat with me that they will be offended when I suddenly disappear because I'm dealing with one of the kiddos. I have 2 people I chat with on a regular basis and other than that, it's just IM conversations when there is something specific - like a project - that we need to discuss. I'm trying to get outside the box a bit more on it though.

I've met some of my very best friends on IM. You just seem to get to know people better that way, one on one and I don't know what I would do without it. gotta have my Mandy! ROFL

I have a list of a few people I talk with a lot...Meg, Kellie, Tracey, Tracy,Traci Amanda H, and Sara...they get most my chatting time, but I'm good at scrapping and chatting.

I have recently just started chatting. I can't be on all of the time though. Can't at work or when the kiddos are up and around but I try to remember to turn it on when I'm available.

I used the MSN Live Messenger with Traci last night and really like it.

I could have written your post exactly... LOL I dont chat at all. Years ago I had MSN messenger but I never got anything done.

But online chat is so much 'better' than RL/phone chat! *lol*

You're able to talk to multiple people at the same time, but you don't have to have one long continuous convo. You can chat for a few mins and then wander off to do something productive... and then wander back in 15/30/45 minutes to chat again! I like texting for the same reason: convenient, fast, and able to multi-task.

But then again, I'm one of those all or nothing types. I dislike talking on the phone b/c it's half & half. You're involved enough that you can't really do anything else, but not involved enough that you feel you're actually accomplishing something! *lol* KWIM?? If we can't hang IRL, I'd much rather text/IM chat so I can pay bills/clean/TV/scrap simultaneously.

Feel free to hit me up, gurlies, if you see me online! BF has classes two nights a week this summer AND I'm broke as a joke... which means a lot of hanging out at my (already have to pay for) apt! *lol*

And yes, Giz is weird. To paraphrase Col's loldogs: Thatz whyz I luv hers.

I don't chat much at all. I had hello, but would only turn it on when I had prearranged plans to chat with someone, usually for a specific purpose (like we are collabing on a kit or something). While I love the idea of chatting with online friends, I don't think I could handle one more time drain. I haven't even started to sort through the other options now that hello is gone. I'll figure it out ... someday :)

I have the programs but don't chat too terribly much. Now that I have a new computer that is conducive to multi-tasking I may chat some more. It's a bit out my box too to initiate chats with people I don't know well, though I'd love to get to know people better. :) On the other hand I already spend so much time on the computer that it could be dangerous, lol.

I don't chat at all. I don't even have any programs installed on my computer. Between work, kids, house, and wanting some time for scrapping and internet, I just don't have the time.

I don't chat either but that's because I don't "know" anybody really. I feel like I'd be getting on their nerves or something.

Ah... what would I do without my IM??? It is how I keep in touch with people I don't see often... we don't chat everyday or even every wk but sometimes easier than picking up the phone. BUT there are people I chat with everyday... I think Becca and I spend about every waking hour chating away and then I have a few others that I can with on various Im's. No wonder I never get anything done!!

This is why i rarely im too.. only to a few people. I hate starting up conversations cause I never know what the person thinks of me :)

I usually don't chat and scrap at the same time, but I'm logged into YIM whenever I'm on my laptop. So people drop in or I do a sneak attack on ppl sometimes. I haven't done the sharing thing if I'm stuck on something though. I might have to try that sometimes since it happens pretty often.
