How did your daughter's birthday party go? Wasn't it Mother's Day weekend? Our neighbor's son just had a birthday party today, and I totally forgot about it, and as I was sitting here feeling guilty, I remembered that you were worried about having a low turnout, and I didn't remember you posting whether it was the party of the century or a small affair. Hope you didn't have a bunch of bum parents like me who just totally, absolutely didn't remember. :(

Sorry it took so long for me to check in.

It was great! I was initially worried b/c I though that the boy's party may've been on the same day and that maybe he invited the class without inviting my DD? Well...he did have his party on the same day since his mom contacted me to know that he couldn't come b/c he had his own party the same day. but, it turns out that he didn't have one where the class got invited...since people were able to come to DD's party. I was worried that DD didn't get invited b/c last year she was in the afternoon session and this year I switched her to the morning session b/c I could get in this year. Last year we got a class list at the beginning of the year which included contact info, but we didn't get one this year.

There were probably 7 kids there (good number for me) and some had siblings (which I'm totally fine with) so there was about 11-12 kids all together. The kids had a BLAST. Well...hee hee...I did hire Snow White and it did turn out REALLY GREAT!

I really like the location (except for the lack of parking, but we got lucky and got a spot in front) because even though it's next to the big playground it had a little fence around most of the area. So kids could run around free within our eyesight. Great for when they were playing with the big bubble wands. It's also great b/c it discourages others (strangers, not part of your party) from joining in the fun...wel, except for these 2 kids when their mother just sat herself down in our area. The park also has a park ranger who introduced himself in the beginning and told us to talk to him if we have any trouble. In the beginning, there were some people sitting around the edges of the are and he asked if we wanted him to ask them to leave and I said 'no'. i don't really care...as long as they don't come up to our picnic tables and help themselves to our food, lol, or the toys/games we had going on.

I also liked it because it was only 1.5-2 hours.

Thanks for asking!

Oh, that sounds great, Karen! I'm so glad you had a good turn out. 11-12 kids sounds just about right, so all your worrying was in vain (thank goodness!).
