AVG not free after the 31st of may?

I got a pop up saying we have to upgrade to 8.0 and it costs $$. So there will be no more free version?? If not is there any other free anti virus that is good?
 
Its free, I just upgraded mine this morning and it seems to working just fine and dandy (and still free).
 
WOW! I didn't know that about the newer version being free, I thought they had started charging for it awhile ago so I bought Norton! Figures!
 
I got that message this morning too. I'll update tomorrow.

I had so many issues with Norton Pam, I don't know you do it. My Dad and brother (computer gurus) use AVG, lol. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. :p
 
My computer guy also recommends AVG, he had my dad install it on all of the computers at his work a few years ago, and they never had a problem at all. I had issues with Norton using up my memory in the background, and at the time I barely had any RAM to start with LOL.

I did buy the AVG for my new laptop, I'm protecting that baby LOL. I do have the free version on my desktop and used it for years now without problems.
 
Wow I had never heard of this program! I've been buying/using MCafee for the last two years or so. This is GREAT to know....thanks :)
