This is my husband's first Father's Day and I would like to make it really special for him. I want to be creative and make him something but I have no idea what to do. What are you doing for your husbands? I would love to hear all your wonderful ideas.

Thanks:)

I am going to make him a movie with all the kids pictures! I usually do it every year but this year I was thinking of incorporating a lot of photos of him and his own dad.

Well, my DH isn't my father, so I let my kids have full reign on that day. LOL

I am thinking of hiring a handyman to take care of some projects that he just can't get to....as a surprise. He is going away on a business trip and I think I am going to have the handyman come and put together his new desk system (which is huge) that we ordered from Costco a month ago (which is sitting in our garage). He just doesn't have the time to do it.

Last year I did something similar. I had the electrician come (while he was away) and install a bunch of light fixtures we had ordered and a gorgeous light that we bought in Venice on our honeymoon. He just never had time to do it himself, so, I took care of it for him....and he loved it!

I have no time to craft anything for my DH, though I wish I did. So I'm going to buy him a new bathrobe, because his is ratty. LOL

that's such a cool idea Susan!

I did an album for my dh a couple years ago. I'm not sure what I'll do this year.

My hubby doesn't even buy into Fathers Day...he hates holidays that he feels are "made up". Mother's Day falls into this catagory as well as Valentines Day.
I knew it going into our relationship, and strangly it works out for us well. I usually get him something very small a super hero T-Shirt and a pair of boxers...I scrapped a page for him last year of the boys and he loved it, but honestly, I love our take on Holidays that can add pressure and take a lot of money out of our budget.
As the boys get older they have been doing some fun stuff for the both of us, but since we don't make a big deal out of it they don't seem to concerned either.

I will of course get my dad a little something, and do something special for my FIL, but it will be low key and probably home made.

I'm going to make him a mini-album in a tin from "the kids" (dogs) and get him some new undershirts and dress socks (his current ones are getting ratty so it's getting harder to find nice ones for his interviews). His birthday is a few weeks later so I can't do too much.

Jay feels the same way, however he knew going into our marriage that my family made a VERY big deal out of holidays. So basically he HAS to do something for me, but could care less if I reciprocate.

I'll probably get him some new shirts this year...really needs them.
