How do you like your steak??

I was pondering this question today whilst I was eating mine for dinner! I tend to gross out everyone around me when I eat steak because I like it blue rare, which is basically quickly seared on the outside and cold and raw in the middle. In fact I may just skip the searing next time and save myself a few minutes! So how do you ladies like your steak??

holy crap that's a little rare for me Eve

I like mine medium rare...not bloody anymore but still pink, though we're on our way to a vegan household, no more steak for us!

has to be medium. a tiny bit bloody with some pink. some places overcook my steak and then i cry.

really...just seared?! wow. is raw cold meat tasty?

Mediumare for me! I used to order well-done...then it went to medium-well, then medium. I'm pretty happy with mediumare though, I doubt I'll ever go to rare steak.

It's damn tasty! LOL I just have always loved it basically raw, hence why no one likes to eat steak around me! LOL We have really cut back on our meat also Traci, 2, maybe 3 times a week now and it is mostly chicken!

Ick, Eve...not me! I like mine well, well, well done. As in, absolutely NO pink in the middle (if there is, I can't choke it down) and pretty much charred on the outside. Which reminds me, we're going for a steak dinner tomorrow night. Hopefully they'll cook mine the way I like it. LOL!

I like mine best, on a Friday night, while I have been enjoying a few beverages, and the steak has been marinating for a few hours. Done on the Bar B Q whith potatoes done in tin foil with onions and carrots, add in some butter and seasoning salt. Mushrooms fried in butter. garlic toast....oh, back to the steak, LOL Meaduim rare, not to pink

Now I know what is for supper tonight, LOL

medium well. too much pink and I will be freaked.

hmm, which reminds me, I cannot remember the last time I had a steak.

I like mine medium to medium rare. I prefer filet mignon over any other steak.

If it's prime rib, my dh will eat it very rare. I couldn't believe it the first time I saw him order it and eat it.

Medium for me. I like a little pink in the middle, but if it's cooked like you like it, I send it back!!!

I'm a rare to medium rare person - I like it pinked in the center, but not too cool as it just is harder to chew. I don't do steaks well (the steaks I get are usually too thin, because of price), so if I really want to get a good one, I'll go to a restaurant and order it rare....

my BIL likes ground beef raw out of the container...it's a german thing I heard and he's got German blood....lol

Traci, I just puked a little in my mouth re: your BIL. I cannot even deal with that image in my head.

*lol* FOR SHAME, Ms. Reed!! There is a CHAIR between them! And she has been stricken so sorrowful that her beloved will not leave her comments on her FB wall that she has thrown herself to the floor in a sobbing rage!! I know that feeling all too well!

:p :p :p

But yes, I see where your eyes go in the image if you are a dirty birdie like you...

I will pick a new one this weekend just for you. :)

I haven't eaten beef or pork in about 15 years, so I don't like any steak. If I tried at this point, I'm sure I'd get sick.

I have to ask.... and mind you, this is just me not knowing diddly about meat....... but uh...

like how is it healthy to eat it all red and bloody? what about germies and stuff? lol

That's a gross thing, not a German thing. LOL! My FIL is from Germany, he'd never even consider eating raw ground beef, but he does love some blood & tongue sausage!

It's called Steak Tartare

Steak tartare is now regarded as a gourmet dish. It is especially popular in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic (Tatarák) and Switzerland. In Belgium, it is known as filet américain or American fillet. It is eaten as a main course, typically accompanied with toast or french fries. The preparation of the meat is either done by the waiter, table-side, or by the customers themselves. A fresh green salad may also be served in the summer months to add a further freshness to the dish.
La, it depends on where you get your beef,..as long as it's well handled and refrigerated it's fine...

I like mine not mooing anymore preferably...

Medium/Medium well..depends if I cook it or where I order it from lol

Not big on tartare myself, mostly because they put mustard in it (someday I'll explain the relationship I have with mustard LOL!). I like mine between rare and medium rare.

Now, if we're talking TUNA steak...well, that's a different story! Give it to me raw!
