I have a degree in disability studies and have been looking for work in that field for 15 months now so honestly anything in that field except for home support work (cooking, cleaning etc for people with disabilities)

carrie1977 01-09-2018 09:40 AM

I would love to be a Labor & Delivery nurse.

craftytam 01-09-2018 11:48 AM

I don't know!! There are so many things I think I would like to do. That's probably why I never finished college!! :P

KristinCB 01-09-2018 11:49 AM

I want to own a letterpress wedding stationery studio. And be an SSD designer. So those are my two life goals

MamaBee 01-09-2018 04:59 PM

A set designer for a sitcom... but not something I would actually do, but I love the details some put in.

adi&co. 01-09-2018 06:12 PM

Newborn photographer. I just don't have the motivation to get clients, lol

My dream job would be a spa critic. Travel around the world visiting different spas and getting all the treatments. Once when I was working at the Parker in Palm Springs one of my clients told me he worked for a magazine that did just that. I was like ... this is a legit job?! For reals.

tanyiadeskins 01-09-2018 07:21 PM

I have been a sahm for 18 years now and honestly I do not want to do anything else. I love it <3

I have my dream job - being a mother. I always wanted to be a mother. Money jobs didn't excite me as much as being a mother. So when I got pregnant with my first, what did I do? I melted down and said "I'm not ready"

If I had to pick a monetary job . . . .probably something in the graphic art industry, I just don't know what.

I thought it would be fun to be a midwife. Seriously considered it a few years ago and then I decided I didn't want to be responsible if something went wrong and it fell back on me. I'll let someone else do it and just enjoy the beauty of birth from afar!

Keely~B 01-09-2018 07:38 PM

A librarian and/or an artist.

aussiegirl 01-09-2018 10:36 PM

Travel Agent or Interior Designer

anelia 01-10-2018 01:58 AM

How do you call those people who travel and make videos about a particular tourist destination? That's my dream job :) like a travel leisure/vacation journalist

Quantum_Leap 01-10-2018 02:10 AM

I am currently a teacher, which is pretty much my dream job, but if I wasn't one, I would want to be a midwife or a librarian (or both!).

I wish you lots of mojo and inspiration this year!.

kristalund 01-10-2018 10:56 AM

The first thing that popped into my head was something like Becky Higgins or Heidi Swapp.

kristalund 01-10-2018 10:56 AM

oh, Ali Edwards too!!

LeeAndra 01-10-2018 01:31 PM

A traveling international photojournalist by day, a singer-songwriter by night who only performs in small clubs and other intimate venues. Not that I’ve thought about this before... [emoji12]

In some ways being an author and writing fiction would be my dream job, but it's not something I'd ever seriously pursue or be good at. I'll let you know if I ever figure it out!

chinagrrl 01-12-2018 01:09 PM

i'd always dreamed of being a pastry chef.

My future DIL is a labor and delivery nurse and she loves it.

I am really happy with both my jobs, production planner and digital designer, but if I could be anything, I would be a surface designer. I love patterns and fabric. :)

Sherri Tierney 01-14-2018 09:14 PM

This is what I have been trying to figure out the past year. I am not really sure. My boss told me on Friday that I missed my calling as a writer. I said maybe I haven't... it isn't as though I can't start writing now. ;)

I was a digi-designer for several years and thoroughly loved it. However, I firmly believe that I have adult ADD and I struggled so much to stay focused when I designed. I would either flit from one thing to another taking forever to finish a kit, or I would hyper-focus on it and hole myself up in my office for so long that I felt like I was ignoring my family. It didn't help that while I was designing my children were young (I started before the youngest was 6 months old). Therefore any time away from them made me feel I was ignoring them.

I took my present job when my youngest started kindergarten. Rather, I took a position at the school I currently work at. I started part time with the intention of designing part time and working part time since the kids were both in school full time. A new position opened up and I was asked to take it. I have been doing that since, this is my 7th year with the school district and my 5th as technology support. As a mom, the hours are great! I work when my kids are in school. There are a few in-service days a year that I work when the kids are not in school, but at 12 and 15 they are old enough to survive at home. I also have 3 months off every summer.

However... I still struggle with trying to figure out what I REALLY want to do! I still very much love design, I love photography, I love writing, etc. Basically I really love creative outlets. Thankfully my job allows me to be creative far more than I could have anticipated. The guy who held the position before me does not have a creative bone in is body. He is extremely left-brained. I worried going in that I wouldn't be able to nurture my creative side. It turned out that I worried for nothing though. Being a creative soul working in a school... well, I have a lot of opportunity to take on creative projects unrelated to the technical side of my job. My boss loves finding new projects for me to take on. I use Photoshop at work more than I do at home these days!
