Confession thread:

Post 3 of your deepest, darkest confessions:

I'm a piler. An awful piler (or maybe a really good one since there are SO many all over the house?!?).

I adore canned chili.

I like to listen to Barry Manilow on occasion.

Jennilyn 01-23-2010 08:46 PM

Ooh...I'm definitely a piler. Doesn't help that the kids leave junk and papers all over the house.

I go back to bed after my oldest goes to school while my 4 1/2 year old watches TV in the living room.

I'm always finding excuses why I can't makes a "real meal" that day. I just hate cooking.

lovely1m 01-23-2010 08:48 PM

Yeah, I am a piler, too. I call it a clutterer though. lol

I spit. Everytime I go the bathroom, I feel the need to spit when I am washing my hands. I have no idea why.

My 3 year old watches way too much TV. I like background noise & I don't care if its cartoons or my kind of show.

jaylensmom 01-23-2010 08:52 PM

i'm a paper hoarder (eventually i burn it but i keep it for awhile before i do)...

i gag all the time...if it smells funny, if it looks funny i gag (my family thinks i'm crazy)...

when i watch my son's kiddie tv shows i laugh more than he does (i think that may mean kids shouldn't really be watching them)...

lovely1m 01-23-2010 08:55 PM

Rachelle, yours made me giggle a little.

scrap2day 01-23-2010 09:16 PM

I don't see anything wrong with being a piler. (I knew there was some reason why I liked you gals so much). Oh, and here's a hint. I bought these boxes at Target that are see through and stack and are just a bit bigger than a piece of paper. I label them for their topic area, but in reality all I've done is boxed my piles. LOL!

Oh, and I'm a flopper/dropper too. Like when I come home I don't want to go into a closet and get a hanger and hang up my coat and close the door. It's not me. Not gonna happen. So, if anyone else is like me, may I recommend the Coat Hook/Tree. Organized Flopping!

Jennilyn 01-23-2010 09:20 PM

I don't hang up my clothes after I'm done wearing them...if they're clean they're on the floor, if they're dirty they're in the hamper. :D

lovely1m 01-23-2010 09:21 PM

Yeah, I do the clothes thing and the coat thing, too. Always have hooks on the wall for the jackets. lol

Jennifer 01-23-2010 09:24 PM

I am a huge worrier. I worry about everything. every.thing.

I bite my nails even though I punish DD for doing the same. :o

I adore mindless TV.

There are SO many more. :D :D :D

LeeAndra 01-23-2010 09:33 PM

When Jeff is already out of bed, especially on a weekend when he has Tyler, I will sometimes pretend that I can't hear the baby when she wakes up and cries so that he will come get her out of her crib and let me sleep in a little longer. If he already has to be up for one kid, why not be up for the other one, too, and let me rest?! *lol*

Jeff and I (and by Jeff and I, I mean 75% me) go through 2 quarts of Crystal Light Fruit Punch approximately every 36 hours.

I DVR 'Days of Our Lives.'

*shew*

That felt good, Darcy. REAL good.

tettletop20 01-23-2010 09:50 PM

I enjoy watching Phineas and Ferb - I think it's the best cartoon ever.

I do laundry but it rarely ever gets hung up or put in dressers - usually just stays in a pile and we all pick and choose from piles of clothes.

Balinda 01-23-2010 09:54 PM

I am giggling over here...

I don't sort socks...ever...can't stand it. If left up to me they would come out of the dryer, stay in a basket and everyone would grab thier own as they needed. Hubby can't stand that so he's the official sock sorter.

I sleep with 4 pillows...2 regular ones and 2 body size ones which then takes up most of our bed and I leave the hubby with tiny sliver of bed real estate to sleep on.

I iron my clothes every single day..I hate wrinkled clothes (but don't mind unsorted socks..go figure). I even just went and bought a new over the door ironing board because my old one is in the way in my bathroom.

aggiefamily 01-23-2010 09:55 PM

I fold the clothes but keep them in the basket because there isn't room in the dresser. Cleaning out the dresser to make room would make way too much sense.

On Tue/Thur after I pick up my youngest we will sit in the car and wait 20-30 minutes for big brother to get out of school. It is much easier than trying to convince an extremely tired 4 year old to walk the 2 blocks to the school.

I make PMS/cramps seem like it is way worse than it really is for me. I need the day to lay around and not have anyone expect that I will get anything done.

mummytothree 01-23-2010 09:55 PM

I eat way to many sweets....like way to many...like sometimes they replace my meals :o

I think Sean from The Sunny Side Up Show on Sprout TV is HOT!!!! Something about his geekyness just turns me on!!! :D
http://www.sproutonline.com/sprout/P...sean_roach.jpg

I feel like the most powerful woman in the world when I nurse C, I just feel so on top of the world that I could do anything, accomplish anything, be anything!!! It just gives me the best feeling in the world!!!!

joelsgirl 01-23-2010 09:55 PM

I don't pick up or wash dishes the night before/morning my helper comes (twice a week). If she didn't come to rescue us twice a week, we'd be white trash.

Sometimes I feed my kids Chips a hoy so I don't have to get up and find them something to eat.

I live in constant fear that my husband is going to come home and discover the house is a wreck and the kids are watching TV just so I can scrap.

I could make like twice the number of layouts I make now if I wasn't connected to the Internet.

MamaBee 01-23-2010 09:57 PM

Hmm... you mean I have to admit, I can't live in denial anymore?

1. I'm like a camel regarding bathroom... I may only go once or twice during the day and every time I get home I have to go to the bathroom... nothing has changed, even with having a kid.

2. If I'm upset and no one is around to hear me out... I'll have a "conversation" with my Patti Bear... a big teddy bear that I got when I went off to college... she always agree with me!!

3. I can't stand milk that isn't ice cold... if not cold enough, I will put ice cubes in it...

That's no confession - that's the truth! We love it, too!

lovely1m 01-23-2010 10:10 PM

umm, so I like Phineas & Ferb, too. I don't mind at all when N wants to watch that. I also think that Wizards show on Disney is kinda cute.

emmasmommy 01-23-2010 10:15 PM

I have just recently admitted to my Adam Lambert obsession. I HATED him when he was on Idol, but now I have this really strange obsession with him. Like, watch (ok, DVR) every show he's on and my kids sing his songs.

I'm seriously addicted to being on line. I'm on pretty much all day, every day. My kids get taken care of and they are most certainly not neglected, but my laptop is normally open all day long.

I need routine. If I don't have it...I get VERY cranky. It drives me bonkers that my daughter is the same as me.

digideb 01-23-2010 10:31 PM

I like Hannah Montana.

I only make my bed when my mom or MIL are coming over.

I have 6 loads of laundry siting on the recliner in my bedroom waiting to be folded. They are all wrinkled again now.

I can go you one better there...Not only do i like Hannah Montanna...i also like the Jonas Brothers. I watch both shows almost every weekend. I dont even have a child old enough to pretend that its really them watching it.

I have a really good baby, who sleeps alot during the day. But sometimes, (ok, most of the time) i use his nap times to scrap or facebook....And then my husband will get home and ill tell him the baby was awake all day which is why the house is a pigsty......

I hide chocolate and other yummy foods from my husband. Mostly just cos i dont want to share them with him!

OMG... I'm guilty of all these... LOL!!

mrs_jb 01-23-2010 11:19 PM

Okay... I totally love this thread!!! LOL!

1. I take a nap with my 2 year old everyday.

2. I am a coffee addict... 4-8 cups a day!

3. I drink as much chocolate milk as my kids... and we go through a gallon a day!

BrattyMeg 01-23-2010 11:24 PM

I watch iCarly even when there's not a kid around :)

I just watched 3 Bring It On Movies today (in a row)

I drink too much Diet Soda..I'm addicted..had 3 today :0/

Oh we LOVE iCarly around here... we have over 30 episodes on DVR!

nikkiARNGwife 01-23-2010 11:33 PM

These are cracking me up!

I still wear my hair up in a scrunchy..like all day every day. I love my scrunchies.

I am obsessed with routine. If anything gets me or especially the kids out of routine I literally sometimes have mini panic attacks.

I hate talking on the phone.

We have a tv in the kitchen and I turn it on just about every day for the kids to watch while they eat lunch..so I can sit and surf on my laptop.

I never wear jewelry other than my wedding rings. Not even earrings.

Ebony 01-23-2010 11:43 PM

1. When I play Sims I get so into it I totally disregard my own needs. "Wow I'm busting to go to the toilet but at least virtual me is doing well in her professions"

2. Neither of my parents have had stable relationships with their parents or their partners, I'm scared I'm going to end up like them.

3. I am addicted to the internet too. Badly! With no kids to look after, sometimes I will spend all day browsing. I can't stop argh!!!

mlrw70 01-24-2010 12:00 AM

1. Add me to the piler list, I am just a clutter junkie! My DH calls me PigPen because he swears I leave a trail behind me.
2. I would stay at my desk on the computer all day if I could and DS sometimes gets to watch more tv than he needs to so I can scrap.
3. I love playing the sims too and it drives DH crazy, but I don't care!

I feel better after all that too

iJenny 01-24-2010 12:00 AM

Good thread!

1. We live out of clean-laundry baskets. They are in the bedrooms and by the washer. I don't ever put laundry away. Its just how it is in our house and I've come to accept it.

2. I eat my kids' best halloween candy and they never know it.

3. I have never made my bed since we've lived in this house (over 5 years). DH works nights and sleeping during the day. So there is always someone in our bed. But here's the bigger confession: Even if we both worked days, I probably still wouldn't ever make my bed.

kscwgirl 01-24-2010 12:00 AM

Best. Thread. Ever.

1. i love iCarly... like this new one.. isaved your life... I called home and made Jeff dvr it since we weren't going to be home. I'm like.... Abby wants to watch it.. yah. :D

2. I hate laundry. Hate. It. I do it, but clothes go in baskets and we tend to pick out of the baskets. We have NO dresser room.

3. If I'm going to make popcorn or something, I wait until the kids are in bed rather than share it.

4noisyboys 01-24-2010 12:00 AM

Hmmmm......let's see. Only 3?

1. I'm a rebel rouser. I love to play devils advocate and love to get people going just for the fun of it!
2. I'm a liberal (I don't want to lose any friends over this though please)
3. I am secretly (ok...not so secretly) enjoying my vampire porn books. I had never read anything like this EVER, and I'm really finding them enjoyable. I was a bit more of a book snob before.

LibbysMommy 01-24-2010 12:01 AM

I think I like kid shows more than my kids do...I also watch (and love) iCarly. No one else in the house watches it but me (I think Libby's too young for it). I (not-so) secretly love the 'Fresh Beat Band' too. *blushing*

Another internet/computer addict here. I honestly have no idea what I'd do without it. I love that my girls play so well together because it affords me just a few more guilt-free minutes on the computer than before.

I'm addicted to diet soda also. Ridiculously addicted. I crave it. I love the burn. lol. Seriously. I probably drink 3-4 diet pepsi's a day. *sigh*

I was made to make my bed every. single. day. when I was growing up. Now I never do. I don't even make Libby do it. Except when my mom comes over, lol!!

I rarely put laundry away either. I fold it all then it just sits in the laundry baskets. Well except for the girls. I am strangely obsessed with keeping Libby's closet organized. Their clothes are always put away. I organized our bedroom and dressers a couple of months ago and hubby and I just reverted to our old ways.

tborntreger 01-24-2010 12:09 AM

I don't get along w/ horizontal surfaces and excess papers.
Sometimes I operate without a filter.
I secretly wish I was a politician. Ok, that is really strange!

I can SO relate! I had to have an intervention to get me "off" the Sims and now when I pass by it on the shelves in stores my stomach does backflips. Must. Not. Buy.

ok my 3 . . .

1) Last week I printed the 388-page Log Your Memory book at my office when nobody was around so I wouldn't have to pay for the ink or paper to do it. Then I "borrowed" a binder to put it in. (don't worry i'll bring it back . . . maybe)

2) I never make my bed. Even if I have company coming over, I just sweep the duvet over it all to hide the mess underneath.

3) I am an obsessive-compulsive hoarder of digital scrapbooking products. I buy SO MUCH MORE than I need or could ever possibly use. Case in point: I joined the Sweet Shoppe Portfolio challenges but I had never shopped here much before so I had few products to use in my layouts. I had to buy some, right? Sure. M'hmm. Over the course of the last 23 days, "some" quickly turned into . . . . $96 :o i need help.

Angie4b1g 01-24-2010 12:23 AM

You non bed makers are freaking me out. My bed MUST be made always.

When I was sick with h1n1, I'd get up periodically and make it and get back in. And I washed the sheets every day during that time, too.

I've been known to make the bed while dh is up using the bathroom. LOL

profiler_mar 01-24-2010 12:24 AM

Oh my I am about to spit my coke everywhere! This is the best thread ever!!!

1. I drink Diet Coke all day. I mean ALL. DAY. What is this water people speak of?? My poor kidneys.

2. I pretend I am way more organized than I am. I set up all these OCD notebook systems for tracking stuff at work and in my scrapping world- but in the meantime my bank account is about to go negative and my house is a disaster zone. :p

3. I get so behind at work because I cannot stand to go too long without checking my favorite digi forums! It is nothing for my workers to find me browsing through scrapbooking galleries and, bless them, they know if they enter my office they are at risk of being told to look at a LO! ;)

jessica31876 01-24-2010 12:35 AM

I chew on ice constantly. I sometimes have my husband go to the gas station just for ice.

I do not wear jewelry of any kind. If I did wear anything it would be a watch. I do not like rings or necklaces although I do own a few I just dont wear them.

Ive never had a professional manicure or pedicure in my life. I rarely wear nail polish anymore. I just keep my nails really short and unpolished.

scrap2day 01-24-2010 12:49 AM

Oooo, I've got more.

We usually just grab clean towels out of the clean laundry baskets. But every few weeks I will decide to sit and fold them and haul them to the linen closet. Then when there is freaking out that there are no towels to take a shower I calmly say "Did you look in the linen closet?" Like, duh, that's where they should be right? Even though they only get there about once or twice a month. Bwhahaha.

And I'm not a bed maker either. At best I will pull a big comforter over to hide what's going on underneath.
I actually had a discussion with someone at work about this who was taught as a child to make her bed because what would people think if she died? (Ok, what a way to teach a kid something). All I could think was "Who the heck cares what somebody thinks of me after I'm dead? and cr*p, I wasted ten minutes making my bed when I could have been living my life."

And I don't wear a watch either.

breakingbrie 01-24-2010 01:15 AM

Glad to see I'm not the only iCarly fan! lol, I set my cell phone alarm so I don't forget when the new specials are coming on.

I have to admit I'm a laundry freak! If I get it all done and put away, and find I missed something-anything, a towel, sock, whatever, I have to pull out enough clean clothes to make a load to go with it and wash it all. I'm ok to let it pile up enough to make a couple loads, but when it's all done and put away, it has to be ALL done.

When one of my twins has an accident, I make them both change their clothes so they're still in coordinating outfits... I dread the day the become independant enough to want to dress themselves.

ETA
Here's one that drives dh crazy. I'm super nosy about the inside of people's houses. When I go on walks, I always look in windows and I love it when front doors are open, I can get a better view. I just love to see the inside of other people's houses. I love it when people post pics, I'm always checking out what's in the background, how the walls are decorated, what stuff they frame for the walls, how their furniture sits... I especially love complexes, where all the houses are the same layout, but everyone does different things with furniture placement...it fascinates me...

Sharon Kay 01-24-2010 01:21 AM

I'm not a piler ... my house was overthrown and taken over by the Paper Monster! grrrrr

I am addicted to digi scrapbooking and do over 500 layouts a year ... and enjoy every minute of it!

As a result of this addiction ... I have a full CLOSET of scrapbooks that I have created (I used to be a paper scrapper) over the last 17 years!!! ...floor to ceiling scrapbooks ... with only 1 1/2 shelves not filled!

I love the VeggieTales much to my teenaged sons embarrassment ... who have banned me from owning the videos any longer or watching them in the house!

DEFINE ... "bed makers" ... what are they? Are we talking manufacturing plants?? Surely you can't mean that people actually try to make their beds look like the ones in the magazines with the sheets pulled up, the comforter tucked in and around the pillows? C'mon people do those people REALLY exist ... now think about this for a minute ... those people get PAID to make a bed and give everyone else a guilt complex ... are you really giving in to the guilt by associating with these people??

Darcy, I love you. Right now I'm in the middle of trying to do something about my piles, but it's been a lost battle for years. I'm a piler if there ever was one. And what I needed to hear was that there were other people like me in this world! :-)

So.

1. I'm a piler. On the other hand, my CDs are thematically arranged and my clothes are sorted according to colour. So the mess is on the outside, not on the inside. :-)

2. I'm often to be found eating Crunchips at late evening hours. I can resist sweet stuff, but salty stuff... Not that much.

3. I'm supposed to be awfully intellectual, but I totally dig shallow dance music. In the past three years my Christmas preparation soundtrack was, respectively, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. People who think I listen to Christmas music while doing all my thematic creations might be, eh, surprised. :-) I'm not even ashamed for this. :-)

nikkiARNGwife 01-24-2010 09:01 AM

I think rather than a "piler" I'm a "hider". I have boxes and boxes in our closets full of the stuff that usually would get piled up. I can't stand to see it so I hide it away in boxes rather than go through and sort it all. Then whenever we have to move I just usually toss them all out.

I too am addicted to dt. soft drinks. I drink between 3-5 dt. mt. dews a day...I am always aware of how many I have left in the house and I'm always sure to keep some emergency supply.

I am uber-conservative...and I like that way :)

I am a TOTAL germaphobe and wash my hands like a million times a day..kids too and if we go anywhere I wipe down anything we may touch with antibacterial wipes first..then we all use hand sanitizer. I make DH wash his hands as soon as he comes home from work before he can touch anything..including me or the kids :)

My house usually smells like clorox or pine sol

Susan Bartolini 01-24-2010 09:05 AM

Can I just say that I am thrilled to see all of these laundry-challenged people?!!! I thought it was just me being a lazy-ass. I love washing the clothes since we got this awesomely huge front loader....but I just can't bring myself to fold them and put them away. They sit in baskets for days until my housekeepers come. I now PAY them to fold my laundry. And sometimes, after that, I STILL don't put them away. It drives my husband crazy. He has had several "interventions" with me....and I just can't do it. I think I need a 12-step program for laundry.

I would just rather be scrapping/designing than dealing with the laundry!

Susan

schock77 01-24-2010 09:33 AM

I am also a piler (hubby's number 1 complaint!)

I LOVE crime shows- especially real ones (documentary style)

I'm addicted to chocolate and refuse to give it up

I don't floss like I should

I spend too much time on the computer, and even when I do, I'm not being "productive"

Ooooh Nikki this is totally me!! Only we never move. So we just have lots of crap in boxes. Forever. lol It's high time we go through our attic and closets and just purge stuff.
