New Job!

I start a new job today and my nerves are in overdrive. Ack!!! I've been out of work since Jan 2016 to focus on school. Graduated last Sept with my Associates and was continuing for my Bachelor's but decided I needed a break cause I wasn't enjoying it anymore and in March decided to stop for now. So here I am entering the workforce again and my stomach has knots and I want to crawl into a hole and disappear. LOL It's only 32 hours a week and it's literally 2 minutes driving from my door - I could walk it in 5 minutes if that. It's for a local nonprofit - Agency on Aging. I will be an Administrative Assistant for the Nutrition & Wellness portion of the agency.

Now if my nerves would just settle...

Congratulations on your new job!
I'm sure you'll do just fine. Try to be calm and just breathe... you can do this!

Congrats!

I started a new job last December after being out of the work force (though not by choice) for 4 years.

I love it although my 4yo son is still adjusting to being at the babysitter's 3x/week.

You can do it! Making money & being able to talk to adults all day is worth the nerves!

Congratulations! I know the feeling...I went back to work two and a half years ago after being home for 5 years with my kids. To be honest, though, I really could kick myself for quitting the job that I had before I decided to stay home full time. I let my certification lapse and ended up taking a HUGE pay cut even though I had 10 years of job experience. I took the job just because I needed the money since my husband was laid off, but man oh man, do I hate the job.

I really hope you love the new job and kudos to you for furthering your education!
