Facebook Interest Groups are NOT cutting it

Is anyone else having this trouble? I noticed that my scrapbook interest groups were moving really slowly, and I was surprised with DSD coming up and all, so I went to a few designers' pages, and they've been making posts that aren't showing up in my feed. two thumbs down. So I had to add them to my newsfeed, but they're STILL not showing up in my interest group.

I'm subscribed to the SSD list, and I feel like that should keep me updated properly, but today when I uploaded Kristin's new kits & CT layouts to her fan page...and they didn't show up, either! So I went to her fan page, and she's made a lot of posts, none of which have shown up in my SSD interest feed. I hate the feeling that I'm missing out!

I REALLY feel strongly that if I choose to subscribe to a page, I shouldn't be missing out on what that page is posting. I feel like FB needs a boot to the head, pronto, this DSD weekend.

Facebook is being really weird to us, from here, for more than 2 weeks already... o.O

But, yet, I think the better way to see most of our posts is using the list (https://www.facebook.com/lists/329449327134788)...

That's what I'm using, Ru, and posts aren't showing up for me! My feed from the last 24 hours is mostly Shawna, Zoe, Erica, SSD, Cindy and La.

Like, as in since Oct. 20, those are the only ones showing up in my feed! Except that I have one post each from Heather, Melissa & Misty. You're not showing up, either, Ru. : (

:(
thanks for letting me know... I don't know what I could try to do, but thank you! <3
Facebook is not cool... :/

I guess I just need to add everyone to my newsfeed, but grrr, I don't want all my scrap stuff in my newsfeed! I like having it separate, but I like getting news from my favorite designers more, so I'm off to add all the SSD back to my newsfeed.

I don't usually grumble about FB changes, but this one I do NOT like.

Kellie, if you go to the designer page, in the "like" options, you can choose if you want to receive just the important news or all the news about that page (in the "configurations")! And you can check too, if you want to be notified if that page has news - so you don't miss it! I do that with all the pages that I really want to see all the new posts! :)

I've found that you have to really interact with a page's posts to get all of their posts. That's why I always try to like or comment on posts by pages that I use FB to keep up with.

I agree... I am missing out on a lot lately too, and it is not just designers it is personal pages as well even though I have properly selected what I want to see from them. Also all these reallllly old posts, keep popping up here and there.

I'm not seeing designer or personal pages. A few of my most prolific FB friends haven't been showing up anymore for me, either even though I'm sure they're still posting updates every few hours.

This exactly. Posts from last year have been showing on my current post feed and there aren't any new comments or anything bumping them. I miss a lot, too. That's why I'm glad most designers still send newsletters or have blogs. Much easier to read my blog feed than fight with Facebook.

Yes. This. Makes me crazy. All this old stuff coming around and none of the new stuff.

Thanks, Ju. I'll see if I can figure out what you're talking about. It's 10:15 pm for me, and my brain can't process new things right now. But what you're saying sounds like maybe it's not what I've tried. I do that with people but I didn't realize you could do it with fan pages as well.

That is the one thing I hate about Facebook telling me what I want to see instead of letting me decide that for myself. If I like a page, that means I want to see it show up. If I don't want it showing up, I'll unlike it.

I know it's their service and they can do what they like, and it's more strong arming businesses to pay for advertising, but it still stinks from the consumer end.

Sigh. I totally agree. It stinks.

yep.......... Facebook has been majorly on my poo list for a while. I don't see anything from anyone anymore, and I interact with most pages I've 'liked' at least a couple times a week. LAME.

solagratia 11-02-2013 11:53 AM

yeah, my personal digital scrapbooking interest list is only showing two pages' updates, and I have about 40 designers/stores in the list. lame.

Is pretty much the same! :)

FB increasingly reminds me of a casino where the games are all rigged in favor of the house but they let you "win" just often enough to make you think it's not. The whole thing drives me crazy and I wouldn't be surprised if their "business model" eventually led to their downfall.

I especially love when I like someones comment on a post and suddenly I get a TON of updates from them. Like gee, thanks, now I know just how much you've been hiding this whole time! So lame.

I agree. I would be glad to pay for my FB account if I got to have more control over it. They've slowly been taking away our "rights" (i.e. the things we can do) and now it's jus such a part of our lives, what can we do?

d2vasquez 11-02-2013 10:38 PM

Oh I am relieved to see this thread I was wondering too what has been happening with my feeds. I tend to see the same stuff over from some people but miss out on a lot from family and friends or things I have subscribed to.
