computer problems again!!

we just got another laptop because the hard drive fried in my other one. now this one keeps freezing up on me and i keep getting an error message saying that there has been an error so it is shutting down to avoid further damage to the computer. i can get it to work for a bit but then it always freezes up. so luckily we have a 3 year warranty, plus i've only had it for about 2 weeks so it'll be fixed i just don't know how long. sooo, i will be sparse because as you know my husband is a World of Warcraft whore and doesn't share his computer, lol. when he's sleeping, i'll be on it. i'm SO mad. it was so sudden i cant figure out why its messing up. i ran virus and it found nothing; i tried to run the scandisk thing and it froze up and didnt finish so my hard drive must be messed up. anyway, i'll check in here and there. i have photoshop on here too so i could even get a few pages done if i can do them fast, before he wants his computer back, lol.

could be wrong but maybe it's getting overheated?

could be, but i've let it sit overnight and most of the day and it still does the same thing. i have a number to call about it and hopefully it is someting simple that i can fix so i don't have to ship it off to dell or whatever. we got the laptop through the VA and the number is with some company that works through the VA. it came with a letter saying that if we have problems to call this guy and they'll get it figured out either over the phone or have it serviced. going to call them today.

Corey sounds like a possible power supply or maybe a fan problem to me, when mine went out on my old HP desktop it did the same exact thing. My tech guy (my BIL lol) said that its a built in mechanism for the computer to shut down to keep the hard drive and other important stuff from getting too hot if the power supply isn't working right. It was a really simple fix, mine was under warranty and they shipped the part out & sent someone to replace it for us.
