I just LOVE these Mari!!! One of the things I've had packed in boxes for several months is my Silhouette. Do you know if I can use these with my sillhouette software? I am in LOVE with them!

littlekiwi 04-07-2012 11:45 PM

these are what make me wish I had a silhouette - too expensive here in New Zealand

I so much want to unpack that Silhouette! It wasn't in the boxes with all my paper crafting stuff though :crying:. I have a feeling it's in the boxes with my sewing supplies. I wasn't planning to unpack that until I get the wall cabinets for my room. But...I might have to go 'box diving' to see if I can find it! :w00t:

I just watched that tutorial Mari. Fantastic!! Amazing technique with the tweezers! Now I really want to get out my silhouette! I'm hoping you'll do a tutorial on using digital products and printing tips.

One of the questions I have is: Do you print on both sides or ink the unprinted side?

Generally I only print on the one side. I did get some double sided Epson premium matte but still have to use it!

k23m 04-08-2012 11:54 PM

darn!! I love these but just have a cricut...and not sure i have the patience to cut them by hand, because I KNOW I could not stop at just 1! LOL

adrianka 04-09-2012 09:44 AM

I'm so happy we have a hybrid designer now! Thanks for the link to your blog. I don't have any machine, but I think it can all be done with scissors just as well (I suck with machines, for some reasons scissors seem so much simpler to me). I need to find an excuse to do some paper flowers, can't wait.

ryliesmom 04-09-2012 12:53 PM

These are so pretty! Can't wait to give them a try with my silhouette.

AmberK 04-09-2012 05:15 PM

YAY! So excited to have you here Mari! My Silhouette is out of the box but has only been used 1 time. Need to learn to use it more. There are so many things I want to do with it.

Mari Koegelenberg 04-09-2012 05:48 PM

We are going to have a hybrid/Silhouette revolution here! ROFL!

I am so glad you are here ... we've been needing a designer to create things for the Silhouette ... it's not real often you see much from me in the way of Hybrid ... occasionally ... but with these cutting files ... you are more apt to see MORE from me. Thank you!!! I can't wait to see what else you will have to share with us ...

Will there be a spot in the store that is specifically for "cutting files" designs? That would make it easy to find if so ...

if you click on "templates & tools" there is a category in there for "Printable Project Templates" and it has all of Heather's hybrid templates and Mari's cutting files

I found my silhouette in a box today!! Now...I have to find the CD to load the software onto my new computer...getting closer though!

wildblueeyez 04-13-2012 04:35 PM

You DEFINITELY want to go download the software from the website ... usually by the time you get the disk, it's already outdated ...

Well here I thought I was a Hybrid Designer - at least some of the time! LOL

After I move I'm going to dust off my Silhouette as well! The last thing I used it for was titles for my son's science poster! hehe

...hmmm...but we didn't know you had a Silhouette!!! Jeesh lady ... dust it off and have cutting files for your printables ... and I'll buy even more of your stuff!!! Need some ideas for new printables???

Heather Roselli 04-19-2012 09:23 AM

The problem with Silhouette files and my projects are getting the cutting and folding lines to really line up well with the finished printed project. They have to be exactly "on" because if they aren't everything gets shifted. If you were cutting out a one piece flower and you've printed on the whole sheet (or a part), the way you load the paper into the machine doesn't matter too much, yk? Does that make sense?

My first try wasn't too bad, but my second was shifted too much. I sort of gave up after that! hehe I'll get on it in a few weeks and try harder. :D

Mari Koegelenberg 04-19-2012 09:33 AM

Mine usually was spot on but having trouble since they updated the software to include the cameo to get mine to line up right...when my paper loads it either takes it in too far or not deep enough...hit and miss. I need to actually contact the support guys and see if there is a fix for it.

Yes yes! I would buy an "update" to all of your hybrid projects that I have purchased ... if the update was the cutting files (you know like an upgrade charge)

Either that or go to a previous version? I don't think I have upgraded my software ... will wait to hear what you find out.

Hey Sharon...sorry I did not let you guys know but I resolved the issue...my settings were off and I did some pretty paper flowers using the Print and Cut feature and everything was spot on! HTH

Cool ... ok then I know it will be ok to update the software. Thanks!

Heather Roselli 05-18-2012 12:07 PM

Mari and the rest of you have totally inspired me, so as soon as my new office furniture arrives and I can unpack all my office and crafty stuff I'll start working on the Silhouette!

Mari, do you have the machine that prints and cuts or just cuts? NM, I just realized what you meant - using the registration marks you print onto the page with your project...

Mari Koegelenberg 05-18-2012 01:17 PM

lol! Heather! Yay! I am so happy you are getting your silhouette out...cannot wait to see what you make...and nope I only have the silhouette not the fancy shmancy one that prints as well...we can dream can't we?
