Help! I'm Polly Pocket Challenged!
 

Raegan is turning three in ONE WEEK! We still haven't purchased anything for her, and I'm thinking I'd like to get her something Polly Pockets. For those of you who have girls that love Polly Pockets, what is a good set to start with?

I can't answer cause I'm not familiar with the current sets, but I'll just say that Kendra used to LOVE those things. In fact, she still has all of her old ones saved and ready to give to Chloe some day.

The only thing about them (and I'm sure you know this already) is that the pieces are REALLY tiny. Those little shoes and stuff are definitely a choking hazard. Wouldn't want any of your cute little ones putting the pieces in their mouths.

Yeah - that's one thing I was wondering about. But, I figure they can be any worse that all the little Legos we have all over the place. :unsure:

Anything. At 3 yrs old they like anything. LOL.

Here in Aus you can get Polly's whose clothes are magnetic - so all the little ones have to do is sit the clothes on the doll and they'll stay put. My kids (and I) much preferred those because those tiny little rubber outfits are a total PITA to change very.five.minutes.

Oooh good point about the Legos.

Kendra used to have a bazillion different sets. Her favorite was one that had a big airplane... I bet they don't even make that anymore (gosh I'm old, and I have old kids. LOL)

Lol. Don't worry Libby. I'm old too - just my kids are young. :D

That set is cute!

We didn't really get in to Polly Pockets here. Caitrin had some and didn't really like them. They were too tiny for her to really play with. Then again, she's never really been in to Barbie's or any sort of doll like that either. Her American Girl doll and her Little Mommy dolls are the real favorites.

My almost-4-year-old loves Pollys. She loves anything teeny tiny that can be stepped on and send Daddy into an under-the-breath cursing marathon LOL

We have the airplane and my girls love that! We also have a mall and a little house. I banned grandmas from buying any more Pollys because we have a full Rubbermaid tote full! They had them out this afternoon actually, and they are 7 and 9. They were one of those toys we bought that have stood the test of time, that's for sure!

We don't have any polly's however we have a ton of the Disney Princess's that are the same concept. My three year old loves them, however, they are difficult for her to put on sometimes, as are the Polly's. One tip about helping your daughter become independent on putting the clothes on herself would be to get her a small squirt bottle. If you squirt the doll once the clothes slide on and off really easily. If you don't want her to use a squirt bottle you can always keep it by you to do the spraying. It takes less time to do that then put on all the clothes. Also if clothes get used quite a bit {as I'm sure they will} they will rip and tear.
