Yes and i also think the SD has been discontinued?

Milmomma 05-11-2012 09:04 AM

LOL, I have the one before the SD... yes its old. I could totally use a basic how to if anyone wants to lead me in any direction. I haven't powered it on in years and am a little scared. I'd love to figure out how to cut out flowers I've printed. Given I don't have the ability to do it all with one machine, would it still be possible?

I thought I saw both on Amazon. Oh now I really, really want a Cameo

Rainman_mark 02-22-2013 10:31 PM

So does it also print or do you have to print it first in your own printer and then have it go through the silhouette?
RS Gold|Diablo 3 Gold|GW2 gold|WoW Gold

Mari Koegelenberg 02-23-2013 12:32 AM

Yes you print on your own printer and the silhouette reads the registration marks and uses that to figure out where to cut.

mixedclawzz 02-23-2013 02:12 AM

I got my Cameo for myself for Christmas. Best purchase EVER as far as crafting goes. I've used it more in the couple months I've had it than I ever did my Cricut which I would love to sell but I don't think anyone would buy it. Youtube videos helped me alot especially with figuring out print and cut.

Beebo 02-23-2013 10:03 AM

Where can you buy the Cameo without going online to get it?

Mari Koegelenberg 02-23-2013 12:33 PM

As far as I know they are only available online. You might be able to check with your local LSS if they have them available.

NeverendingJen 02-23-2013 12:42 PM

If you go to the silhouette website, you can actually search for locations that carry them. There are some places that do.

heathergw 02-23-2013 03:28 PM

my Archivers has them, but that's the only local b&m place I've seen them

Rhoda Jayne 04-13-2013 05:07 PM

Select Michael's stores have them also but I've never seen any in the Texas stores.

Patrycja88 04-25-2013 05:04 AM

I would LOVE one! I've been eyeing one for a couple years now

laceybittner 04-28-2013 05:43 PM

LOVE my Cameo!! It is a great machine and so versatile! Not just for scrapbooking!

d2vasquez 05-04-2013 07:06 PM

Quick question - do you find yourself using 12x12 paper or do you use all sizes with your machine? I see they have the portrait which only can only accommodate the 8.5 x 11 paper so was curious if I would be ok with just that.

anika 05-05-2013 02:59 PM

i have a cameo, but i mostly use 8.5x11 sheets, because i use print&cut very often and i don't have a bigger printer. of course it depends on what you want to do with it.

Trista 05-05-2013 03:15 PM

since this thread popped up again and it's iNSD weekend... has anyone seen sales on either cutter (cameo or cricut). I am so surprised of the lack of "paper" scrapbooking sales during the paper scrapbooking holiday (since the official digi holiday is in November).

I really like being able to cut 12x12 paper because I make a lot of envelopes, mini albums and small boxes.

I just made these super cute rip envelopes for Mother's Day and I was able to use an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, but the largest size I could cut was 4x5:

I know The Paper Source carries it, but they don't have many locations . . .

alright, Maria... if you can do super cute envelopes like that, i may need to rethink my need for one of these! looove those that you shared!

heathergw 05-11-2013 05:03 PM

Oh, those are so awesome Maria!!!

eranslow 05-11-2013 05:11 PM

Those were made on a Cameo?! How cool!! I really really want one....!

AnalogPaper 05-11-2013 05:20 PM

You guys . . . mini rip envelopes. Anything mini makes me die.

Also, one of my goals this year was to send out more happy mail especially to my grandmother because she doesn't ever go online. All of my mail parcels are always made from my digi supplies and the Cameo--would definitely recommend getting one!

Mari Koegelenberg 05-11-2013 05:26 PM

OMG I love! ;) I know Ali has an awesome deal on the Portrait for $129 on her blog with chipboard...yes chipboard! mini album LOOOOVE!

AnalogPaper 05-12-2013 12:05 PM

Chipboard!! That's awesome--been kind of obsessed with mini (of course) clipboards. I wonder how often you have to change out your blade?

sianbb 02-28-2014 05:23 AM

Love my Cameo!!!! Don't know how I survived without one.....

thomas23 03-26-2014 03:39 AM
