Eva Kipler, Remember Her?

I went back in my gallery, back to 2010, when I was a guest ct for Eva Kipler. Shortly after my guest spot ended, she passed away. Shook my core because she was so young. I think of her often and am thankful she gave me a chance as a guest on her team. I think of her family and how they've adjusted to her passing. Does anyone remember her?

Of course! We were also friends on Goodreads, so every once in a while I'll add a book to my shelves and see that it was on her shelves or that she read and reviewed it.

Oh that's such a sweet reminder of her!

My boys and I went to her Memorial Service. We met her hubby and kids. So sweet. Her husband had made albums of all of her previews and had them on display. They asked for people to share memories, so I stood up and shared that I was 'from' Sweet Shoppe and how a little piece of Eva will live on in all of our family memories through her designs.

Even after all these years, I do find myself thinking about her family from time to time...

Kjersti 04-02-2018 10:32 PM

She gave me my first spot on a team. I just adored her!

LJSDesigns 04-03-2018 07:15 AM

She was one of the first digital designers I found when I started scrapping. Her passing sure was a shock, but I think it is wonderful that so many of us remember her through her work here and the kindness she showed. It's a wonderful legacy that proves we do go on in the hearts and memories of people we touch along our journey.

dballance 04-03-2018 10:00 AM

I CT'd for her back in 08/09 and she was the sweetest, very generous and very talented!

ErinShannon 04-03-2018 10:23 AM

OMG, I didn't know or at least didn't remember that she passed away. What happened? I remember her designs quite well - had quite a bit back in the day.

Saar 04-03-2018 11:03 AM

I remember her as well. I was a customer back then but wasn't active on the forum here. Her passing made a deep impact on me. She was so young. I still have some of her kits. Can't throw them away.

I totally get that. I have kept all of mine too. But to be honest, I have kept most of my SSD kits on an EHD. I will purge supplies, but somehow those kits always survive. ;)

Saar 04-03-2018 11:17 AM

Me too Lorie I keep all my ssd kits. But those are extra special.

LeeAndra 04-03-2018 01:16 PM

I CTed for her back in the day.

It saddens me how many digital designers have passed away. I remember Eva, Pattie Knox (from another store), & Andrea of Little Green Frog Designs from ScrapOrchard off the top of my head but there are probably more.

Saar 04-03-2018 01:29 PM

I loved Andreas' templates.

So sad indeed. All those beautiful talented ladies.

What?! When did she pass away? I don't recall ever hearing about it. :(

Valgal 04-03-2018 02:03 PM

I can't bring myself to delete my Eva kits either, even though I never use them. That was such a sad time.

jen104 04-03-2018 02:06 PM

Wow! I didn't know Andrea passed away either. I have so many of her templates that I still use.

Leablahblah 04-03-2018 05:17 PM

I didn't know Eva. I wish I did.
I didn't know the gal behind Little Green Frog Designs passed away either. :(

A couple of years ago...cancer. :(

craftytam 04-03-2018 05:50 PM

I was very new to digi scrapping when Eva passed away. I still have a couple of her kits. I recently heard about Andrea.
It's always sad and tragic when someone passes away too young. :(

LJSDesigns 04-03-2018 11:29 PM

I knew about Eva and Patti, but not Andrea. That is so sad. I freaking hate cancer.

MamaBee 04-04-2018 09:55 AM

I, too, remember Eva well... I didn't get a chance to CT for her, but I have many of her kits and adored her style.

I didn't know about Andrea... I loved her templates! And here I just thought a few weeks ago if she will ever come back designing. :crying:

rach3975 04-04-2018 01:52 PM

I don't know about Patti Knox or Andrea either. [emoji22]

I remember Eva and the blow it was to the community here when we lost her. So tragic and sad

All very sad :( I have things from all of them I’ve purchased.

abm234 04-04-2018 09:30 PM

I remember Eva's designs well and still have several of her kits. I hadn't heard about Andrea. How sad.

mariewilcox 04-05-2018 03:27 PM

Yes, I remember her well. I was on her CT for a while and it was so awful to hear that news.

scrap2day 04-06-2018 01:25 AM

Yes, I didn't know her but I still remember how shocked I was when I read the news. I've thought about her family over the years too. It is nice to read that she touched so many people.

I don't remember why she died, but I remember it was sudden--at least to the scrapping community.

I don't think I heard of Pattie :crying:
Andrea, I was really sad to hear when she died. I have so many of her templates and still use them to this day!

I agree!! I love that she touched so many of us and we are able to remember her and lift her family up in thoughts/prayers, even after all those years!

lovely1m 04-10-2018 02:54 PM

Yes, I was just backing up all my products to a new external hard drive a couple of weeks ago and saw Eva's folder. Made me sad all over again.

I had no idea Andrea had passed. I still use her templates all the time. How sad.

Me too! I think of her often too. My heart broke when she passed and her husband had to tell us on the forum. :( It was so hard to process ... I just "talked" to her yesterday and she was gone. :( I hope her family is doing well.

Wait what? I was CTing for her when she stopped designing to become a midwife! How long ago?

It was about two years ago...from the time she was diagnosed to the time she passed was very short...I think like three months.

Wow ... :(

I don't really know Pattie, but I remember Eva & Andrea quite well...
Eva passed away suddenly because of a heart attack, if I remember it right. :(
