Is your Christmas tree still up?

Being the curious soul that I am, I'm wondering if there are any others with their trees still up, lol ... if not, when did you take it down?

Jennilyn 01-03-2009 10:58 PM

Nope, Christmas stuff always comes down on New Years Day. I know some people are waiting until the 6th to take theirs down for the 12th day of Christmas or something like that.

MelissaL88 01-03-2009 11:00 PM

I'm taking our Christmas stuff down tomorrow. I always wait until the weekend after New Year's to take it down.

sugarlips 01-03-2009 11:01 PM

YEP! Mine's even still lit up right beside me right now!!! I've been contemplating taking it down for about a week now. Still too lazy to do it tho!

Leila 01-03-2009 11:01 PM

Ours stays up through 1/6. We'll put it all away after the boys go to bed that night or the next day after Andrew gets home from work.

SamaraGugler 01-03-2009 11:01 PM

Yes, but only because we left for a week the day after Christmas. I'm going to take it down tomorrow.

Dottie 01-03-2009 11:01 PM

Nope, all Christmas decorations were taken down on 27th, totally back to normal.

Melissa Bennett 01-03-2009 11:02 PM

We have taken all of ours down. Did that on New Years day.

ZaCola3 01-03-2009 11:02 PM

Yep...Still Up...I'm sure Scott will dis-assable on Monday when I'm back at work.

Angie4b1g 01-03-2009 11:03 PM

Mine is still up. I'll take it down when it gets on my nerves. LOL

LenaGardner 01-03-2009 11:03 PM

Here in this house we take it down on Epiphany 1/6...BUT we took it down on 1/1 because David was going back to MO and we needed the help getting it into the attic.

"this house" is Tabatha's house.

In my house...well I have been known to take it down the evening of the 25th. :o Usually the 26th though!

Our tree was starting to lean on Christmas Day, so I told DH when the stores opened on the 26th, I wanted to go get some ornament storage boxes (all ours are Hallmark) and take down the tree.
When we got home from Walmart that morning, we couldn't get the front door open because THE TREE HAD FALLEN OVER IN FRONT OF THE DOOR!
We had to force the door open, and some of my ornaments were broken :(

So basically, our tree took itself down.

NettieB 01-03-2009 11:16 PM

Yep, still up. Really like this one. Wanna keep it. :p

I usually take ours down the Sunday after New Year's during/while yelling at a football playoff game or two. Helps combat the packing away the holidays feelings for a while.

kscwgirl 01-03-2009 11:18 PM

I took ours down the 27th or the 28th.. I don't remember. I put it away decorated so i just take it down and pop it in the box and put it in the basement. LOL

Aw, poor tree :(

Libby Pritchett 01-03-2009 11:19 PM

HA! you guys are killing me! I'm one that when Christmas is over, it's over. I refuse to listen to Christmas music past the 25th or anything like that. LOL! So, it should come as no surprise that my tree came down and all signs of christmas were gone on christmas night. Seriously. LOL!

Teresa 01-03-2009 11:20 PM

Yes, mine's still up...but I'm ready for it to go into storage again. :) Maybe tomorrow.

Nettio 01-03-2009 11:27 PM

Mine's still up. I think we're planning to take it down tomorrow though. Even my DH said he was sad that Christmas was going to be over. :D

Shawna 01-03-2009 11:27 PM

We took ours down earlier this week, before New Year's I *think* but I'm not sure. Since DH & the girls have been home on break from school I easily loose track of the days LOL!!

rochelle789 01-03-2009 11:34 PM

Mine is still up, mainly for 2 reasons. First, I'm just too lazy to take it down. And second, it's still fun to see the baby's eyes light up when we come out in the morning and turn it on in the dark. She just oohs and aahs and points to it. It's the cutest thing ever, and I'm not ready to give that up. I'm a sap.

*Kelly* 01-03-2009 11:35 PM

yuppp.. and don't want to spend my weekend taking it down. I am going to do it a little at a time during the week after work.

newfiemountiewife 01-03-2009 11:37 PM

Mine usually comes down on the 6th of January. I do have to work on Monday and Tuesday, so if I don't pull it down tomorrow, it will have to be Wednesday. I am never in a hurry to take the tree down, I just love it being up, and I love this time of year.

clearskies 01-03-2009 11:38 PM

Ummm, sort of... We took it down on the 23rd since we left town for Christmas. DH stuck it in the snow in the backyard. So it looks like we have a pine tree right off our patio. So I guess technically it's still 'up'... :p

lizzyfizzy 01-04-2009 12:24 AM

down. 3 days ago. i am so happy.

melmos75 01-04-2009 12:27 AM

Still up but we were gone for a week after Christmas and I haven't gotten around to it since we've been back.

suzann 01-04-2009 12:28 AM

We just took our tree down today. I probably would have done it sooner, but we had company at our house.

Aggie Aviso 01-04-2009 12:52 AM

Ours is going down tomorrow :) Promise, LOL

Penny Springmann 01-04-2009 12:58 AM

We usually take ours down around the 6th...Tomorrow it goes...It's quickly becoming a fire hazard. :)

Rae's World 01-04-2009 01:37 AM

Ours came down today. This is the first time it has been up into the new year. I usually take it down the day after Christmas. The kids just won't leave it alone. BUt they are getting older and it looks nicer longer. So tradition might change!!!!

~ashleigh 01-04-2009 02:28 AM

Mine's down as of 3 hours ago. I usually wait until the 6th, but I wasn't sure I'd have time to do it.

Sue Setiadji 01-04-2009 06:02 AM

Its the 6th for me normally - may get the urge tomorrow though - Im not that bothered really but getting the loungeroom back sounds kind of neat!

pbumbaca 01-04-2009 08:35 AM

Nope, the tree and all the decorations always come down on New Years day.

Stacey42 01-04-2009 10:43 AM

Mine comes down today. We leave ours up because we have a NYE party every year & it's nice decor. Then we take it down that weekend. I meant to do it yesterday but got sidetracked by other things.

lovely1m 01-04-2009 11:13 AM

Mine is still up cause dh has been out of town, he comes home tonight and it comes down. I am tired of it even though its not taking up any space really. lol

Sari 01-04-2009 11:21 AM

No, we took ours down last Sunday. Normally, I leave it up until after New Year's but I wanted it out of here so I could focus on other things like getting the baby's room ready.

roxyrenders 01-04-2009 11:23 AM

Mine is still up because I want to photograph different ornaments for future LO projects. It is just myself and my husband here---I'm in no hurry to get it down and out fo the way.

mummytothree 01-04-2009 11:29 AM

All 4 of ours are still up (3 fake and one live) and will be till at least next weekend!! I have tentativley set next Saturday as "De-Christmas-fy Day"!! :D :D

meganmecrazy 01-04-2009 11:31 AM

Still up here but didn't want it to be! LOL! Hubby just hasn't been home to take it apart and drag it up to the attic! WAYYYY to big & heavy for me to do!

juliemarie 01-04-2009 11:39 AM

I take it down as soon as I find time after Christmas. This year I did it new years day.

Sarah8914 01-04-2009 12:12 PM

No way! I had a hard enough time keeping it up until the 1st (our company was here through the 31st!!). Next year, it'll be going down the 26th or 27th!

Siryn 01-04-2009 12:41 PM

We took ours down on the 27th because Buttmunch wanted to rearrange the living room and put his speakers back in there.

And the bottom half of the tree was pretty bare since my lil fart took off all of the ornaments that he could reach and broke most of them. Just the other day I found 3 in the bottom of the laundry hamper. Boys are so ornery!

Christy Lyle 01-04-2009 02:22 PM

We usually take ours down New Year's day but we just had our Christmas "re-do" for our family who couldn't make it on Christmas day because of the snow. We'll probably take it down today or tomorrow.

my3hens 01-04-2009 02:33 PM

Mine is up with no ornaments or anything on it LOL Its chillin :)

nesser1981 01-04-2009 02:41 PM

Mine is still up. Hoping to get it down in the next day or two. I had to work.

alansrock 01-04-2009 02:45 PM

All the Christmas was put away on 2 Jan!

ColleenSwerb 01-04-2009 02:45 PM

Ours is still up. In the past 2 weeks we've been home for like 2 days. All the traveling to see family and such. So it'll come down when I get the energy to put away all the ornaments, sometime this week.

my4boys 01-04-2009 02:56 PM

I am looking at mine right now and really need to take it down...no energy to do so yet, maybe later this afternoon after I take a nap..................

lhaslem 01-04-2009 03:03 PM

i took mine down yesterday and it feels great to have that one...i love when its up, but after x-mas the thought of it needing to come down looms over me...I kept it up longer than usual. Of course, we've still got lighted trees and a wreath outside:)

~Julie~ 01-04-2009 03:20 PM

Ours is still up, no lights or ornaments on it. Just waiting for Dave to throw it in the dumpster.
