Sweet Shoppers, we know that many of you may be wrapped up in this month's Summer Shadowbox challenge event, but if you're looking to push yourself even harder or want to keep playing along with our regularly scheduled weekly challenges because 31 challenges is too overwhelming for you, you'll be happy to know that we have an awesome line up of Think Outside the Box challenges ready to go!

This week's challenge is just the kind of inspiration that I love stumbling upon when I am browsing the web. I think Sammy Slabbinck's vintage photography collages lend themselves perfectly to scrapbooking because of the amazing shapes he toys with repeatedly in his work. Click the image above to see his amazing portfolio, check out the awesome layouts from our talented Babes, and then put on your thinking caps to get creative & have fun as you work on this week's challenge!

Okay, this one was way outside my comfort zone. The clean, straight lines, boxiness, and simplicity of the original pieces is SO not my scrapbooking style. So, I had a hard time simplifying this. But, I chose to strive towards the boxy look, vintage photo, and simplicity. Too me - this layout is much too simple. But, I guess that's what these challenges are for - to get us to step out of our comfort zone! ;-) Also, I need to figure out what year this photo was taken. When I figure that out, I will go back and add that info. These is my grandparents. :)

I did some searching online, and aside from thinking that Mr. Slabbinck has some rather odd artwork, decided to lift this one for the hexagons, and those word strips come off some of his other pieces that I won't link because .... well, let's not go there.
