Qotd: How do you spend Black Friday? (11/18)

Black Friday is just days away.
How do you spend Black Friday?

Do you go shopping or do you avoid the crowd? Or maybe do some online shopping?
What are you looking for?

I'm Canadian so it is just another day for us mostly. However, many stores have adopted Black Friday sales to try and compete with the American stores and keep us shopping on our side of the border. I live near the border so shopping over there is very easy for me. That being said, I will be nowhere the crowds and craziness, lol. Our big shopping day is Boxing Day and I am happily holed up in my house away from the craziness :)

It's a normal work day for me :) My daughter Cheyanne, however, goes out shopping at midnight with her BFF while I'm sound asleep. They have breakfast at 6 am and then she comes home and crashes for the day.

I shop for scrapbook kits, of course. I'll poke around online, but nothing major. I just want my kids to tell me what they want for Christmas BEFORE Christmas Eve this year. LOL

recovering from design madness

I’ve never done the BF shopping madness. This year we’ll be recovering from a wedding 2 days before and thanksgiving 1 day before. It’ll be a lazy day, at home, and my husband will probably be writing a paper or 2 for grad school.

I used to in the past go to it, but I work this year. I'll look at some online sales, but I am mostly done shopping.

My husband and I use to go out in the craziness before we had kids. That was also when it was actually on a Friday. I don't like that it is now on Thanksgiving day. Now we mainly do our shopping online and wait for cyber Monday.

For many years we spent Thanksgiving week at my parents' house, so I liked to get up early and go shopping for holiday gifts on BF. But last year we switched to spending Thanksgiving at my sister's, so I feel like I need to be there taking care of my kids. (It also doesn't help that she's right outside NYC, and the traffic and parking are much more of a nightmare on BF than they are near me or my parents.) I'll do some shopping online instead.

I LOVE me some Black Friday deals, but we’re on a budget this year

I like to shop & I don't mind crowds but there's nothing on this Earth that is worth getting up at 4 am in the bitter cold to buy & then stand in line for hours to pay for.

Nooooooooooope.

This Black Friday I will be going to my parents' (the long way to avoid mall traffic) house to decorate their house for Christmas. We had the genius idea this year to have my nephew & daughter bring everything up from the basement so all we have to do is get it out and spread it around the house. My favorite part is decorating the tree with all of the ornaments I remember from my childhood. It doesn't feel like the beginning of Christmas until I get my parents' house ready.
