This is a tough one because it depends on the photo theme. For my grandbabies I like bright, happy colors.

Definitely a template!

Another tough one. It depend on the subject. Sometimes if a color photo isn't the best, I'll turn it black and white because it looks better.
* Scrap people or scrap places / scenery
While I do enjoy scrapping scenery, I love reliving memories of people.
* Mix and match designer's kits or use a kit or collection from one designer
I love to mix and match, but it does take a lot more time. So this depends on how much time I have to spend on a page.
* Use a solid background paper as the bottom layer, or use a patterned paper
Give me all the patterns! But, I have learned to tone them down a bit so the photos take center stage.
* Use masks or scrap without them
Hmmm....Most of the time scrap without them. Although I do love some of the pages I've seen where they've been used.
