We have a land line. If I had to rely on my cell phone I'd be standing outside at the highest point of the yard every time I wanted to make a call.
Cell signal is not all it could be out here, even with a cell booster. Our internet signal is not strong enough for VoIP products like Magic Jack.
Probably if we lived in an area with good signal for cell or internet we'd ditch the land line though
