Sean was 6 and he'd had the training wheels on for a good two years at that point. He actually let our neighbor take them off one day, and he was riding like a pro within an hour. But, he's one of those kids that takes a long time to care about stuff, and then once he does, it's off to the races. It's been that way with almost everything in his life since he was 18 months old.
My Ian has yet to really care about pedaling on anything, including a tricycle. And, he's 5 now. So, who knows how long it will be before he's riding a two-wheeler without training wheels. And, we have 3 and 4 year olds in our neighborhood riding around on two wheels as well. Every kid is different.
