Default ~Sept Book Selection and Discussion~ *May Contain Spoilers*

Only going with 1 book this month since we're getting a late start (see my I suck thread HERE)

Still Alice by Lisa Genova

On the plus side this book has been nominated a few months in a row now and it's on MY list to read (and hopefully yours!) so figured this would be a great month for it!

Feel free to discuss it here as you read/finish it!!

I really loved this book too! It made me nervous though, every time I couldn't remember where I put my keys I was sure I was getting Alzheimers. I am a bit of a hypochondriac!

It was really good...but man so depressing. I think I was getting teary eyed every other page.

I've been one of the people who kept nominating it; I've even bought it and all, so hopefully I can brace myself and read it now. I'm a bit afraid of it, too.

Off to check it out at the library! This book intrigues me but scares me to death to read. I'm sure I'll get emotional reading it considering my grandma is starting show signs of having Alzheimer's.

i suffered watching my grandmother live with alzheimer's for 4 years and it was something i made myself read. it was so interesting to read this from the person affecteds position. yes, it is somewhat depressing but...in all honesty....i sometimes like a book like that. :/

I just finished it and it was wonderful. Totally adds a fresh perspective to Alzheimer's patients.

I just loaded the book onto my kindle but before reading I'm going to say that this is my BIGGEST fear...Aging and not remembering my family and memories most of all.

I finished the book today and it was a great read. I shed a few tears at different chapters of the book, it made me a little bit sad but it was an insightful view of what a person with Alzheimer's goes through and their loved ones as well.

Picked up the book yesterday from the library and have about a 1/4 of it left to read. This one sucked me in from the beginning. Parts have made me cry and other parts have made me so mad! Can't wait to finish it!

I think it's a fantastically written book, but after about 1/4 I had to give it up. Too hard to swallow for me for personal reasons. :-(
