My first venture into real hybrid

Hey girls.

I never planned this, but yesterday my Muse spoke to me with the voice of hybrid. :-) Without having seen what you were able to do with March Challenge # 29, I would probably never got the idea in the first place, so thanks for da inspiration!

Thank you, all of you! It's so nice to get positive feedback.

See, I never planned to go hybrid, as I do lots of crafts (by lots I mean lots), have lots of art supplies (again, lots means lots) and didn't want to give myself another opportunity for hoarding stuff.

But since I have a printer, a cutter, a whole lot of craft paper punches I bought for wax plate cutting as well as some IKEA frames bought "just in case", the glue etc. etc. I realised no additional hoarding was involved (meaning: not yet) and gave it a go.

It was fun, can't wait to do some more. :-)

Thanks! And it would be great if you did one too. :-)

I myself know that I'll be doing more. It's a great opportunity to finally give justice to all those wonderful papers, as there's rarely a chance to use them all in a digi-layout. And I'm also a person who likes doing variations on a theme, when it comes to crafts, so this is something that was bound to happen. :-)

Oh I LOVE the shadow box. Now I need to by a frame and figure out the sizes because I think I have the PERFECT idea for Owen and my niece lol!! Can I ask what size you made the squares/background lol I like that style but I can't figure out a good starting size lol.

I used IKEA frames called NYTTJA (they used to exist both as rectangle and as square, hope it's still so), you can fit an image of 14 x 14 cm in them (just a slight portion of that will be hidden behind the frame, so I didn't make much fuss about that). So I created a 14 x 14 cm file in Photoshop and divided 14 by 3, which gave me a 9 squares of approx. 4.67 cm.

I put these figures in a converter and 14 cm = 0.46 feet, while 4.67 cm = 1.53 feet.
