Default Silhouette problem

I thought I would ask here because I think a few of your have a Silhouette machine and maybe you would know. I haven't used mine in a long time.

I'm trying to cut out a rather detailed card on heavy yardstick (110b) and it is pulling and ripping the design. Does that mean I need to speed it up or slow it down? It could also be that I need a new blade but I really hope not because it is 7:30PM and I'm already in my PJs and just want to cut out this card so I can send it to a friend.

Thanks for any insight or advice you all might have!!

Sometimes it could be paper stuck in the blade. Take it out and the tip unscrews on the blade. Then look inside. It could also not be stuck good to your mat and moving. If those are not issues then I would slow down the speed and check what the settings say for what the blade needs to be set on.

This thread is several months old now ... but thought I'd chime in - this happened to me and I called Silhouette customer service and they told me the blade was probably set too deep. I changed the settings and it worked perfectly. C/S said less is best with the blade ... and to use duplicate cutting if necessary.
