Default baby vaccinations

Chloe just got her 4 month shots yesterday, and she's pretty fussy today (it's been just at 24 hrs now). She just wants to be held and is running a fever (101) which I know is normal. I gave her some tylenol, and she's finally resting now. I'm just wondering though, do any of you remember how long this usually lasts after shots? I must've blocked it out from when Gracie was a baby 14 years ago because I don't remember at all. LOL

Depends on how sick they get, after Finn's 6 months, he really got sick and had a cold for a week!

Not longer than 24 hours...they were usually just crabby right after and fine by the next morning.

Casey got sick after one of hers, I think it was the 6 or 9 month, and didn't feel good for a few days, but all the rest of them, 24 hours and she was fine.

sorry she's feeling icky

Rachel never really got sick with her shots...the doctor recommended giving her Infant Tylenol an hour before she got her shots so that it had time to kick in, and to keep giving it for about 24 hours after. That seemed to work as she never even ran a temp after getting any of her vacc's.

Its so funny because I always liked vaccination day. My kids were a tiny bit fussy but mostly slept like crazy so it was always a quieter and more mellow day than normal. Sorry your little bug is cranky Libby!

my son always got a little cough for 24 hours after getting shots and when he was little he knocked him out at night. I'm sorry that your little girl is cranky Libby.

DD was a real champ with shots. She didn't fuss during or after them and would take an awesome nap afterwards and then be fine.

I think maybe once (it seemed like she got shots at every appointment the first 18 months) she ran a slight fever and seemed to be a little tender in her leg, but that's all.

It will pass soon!

same here with Jake... he is such a trooper with shots... I think there might have been at the 6mon where he had a bit of a fever the rest of the day, but by the next, he was good.

Cheyanne was another that just napped a bit more that day and was otherwise unaffected. Not much help, I know, but it seems my nieces/nephews, and friends would say about 24 hours or so.

Awwww poor Chloe.

It might just be that she was coming down with something when she got the shots. My daughter was coming down with a viral fever and got her shots. We obviously didn't know she was getting sick, but she had a fever for a week afterwards and a sore throat. It was just a coincidence.

I hope she feels better soon and if she is still feverish tomorrow, take her in to be seen.

For us it depended on the child and the set of shots, but I don't remember anything lasting longer than 24 hours. I hope she's feeling better soon!
