Best learning websites?

Anyone care to share what their favourite websites are for helping with school/learning? Lucas is struggling with learning multiplication and I've been printing out worksheets and have something on order but I'm also wondering about online resources and maybe if he played games or something it would help him be a little more positive when it comes to learning...

I don't know if you'll find anything specific to what you are looking for, but the boys' school encourages them to play on Cool Math Games ( http://www.coolmath-games.com/ ). They loved it, but I don't think it was geared towards specific topics, just more, something to keep them thinking and using their skills.

my boys LOVE http://prodigygame.com/ ! It's like pokemon where you get to catch animals and use them to help you battle but you use magic instead of moves and the animals just run away they don't faint.

Marcus has a really hard time with math but prodigy makes it fun. You can go in and set the grade and the type of math he has to go through too! And while there are more options in terms of animals you can capture if you're a member, you can still play without purchasing the membership and it's still fun!

This is the one my daughters play! They use it at school and they are allowed to count it as homework time to continue playing it at home. They love it and as a parent you can set up an account as well to receive input on their progress.

My kids like Cool Math Games, but they tell me that some of the games are pretty light on real math, and those are the ones the kids play most. It's free during weekdays (through 4 pm ET, I think) but just started charging on evenings and weekends.

My 3rd grader's school assigns Dreambox as math homework. My daughter doesn't "like" it per se, since there is real math practice, but the few times I've helped her with a game or skill it seemed like a good site. It might be worth looking into.

My kids have also used math apps to practice skills like multiplication facts.

Thanks for the Prodigy recommendation! That sounds like something Lauren would like.

is fantastic for helping with math. I used it a lot when we were homeschooling.

My kids love SumDog. It's free online for most games or you can get an account for bonus content. Their school uses it too. https://www.sumdog.com/

My kids use IXL at school and home - it's made a huge difference for my 14 yr old. He has a learning disability in math and has been in special ed since 5th grade (8th grade now). This year it was decided to put him in a regular math class to see if he could do it before going into high school. Start of the year was bad - he had a 55 average. With IXL at home - averaging 4-5 days a week for 30 minutes a day, he's now got a 78 average and he's thrilled and so are we. Highly recommend it!
