Default Changing up style for 2015?

In past years I've gone with a paper-style (done in digi of course!) pocket scrapbook.

I'm thinking about changing things up this year. I want to "lighten up" my pages and incorporate a lot more white. But I don't want to do a plain photobook either. Here's my first "draft" and it's very much a work in progress, but I think you can see where I'm trying to go with this:

Anybody else trying something new for 2015?

Very nice - like a magazine layout! I love the look of them but can't really pull it off. I keep adding and adding until it is a hot mess. I am a bit of a clutter bug. Yours looks gorgeous so I say good choice in a new pick!

I always admire this style -- I think it really helps to put emphasis on the photos.

I admire it too! Wish I could scrap like this... if only I could have more self-control.

LOL! I don't have that much self-control -- I have my regular pages where I fully intend on layering heavily still!

I love it! I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself this year, especially after I saw Misty's Pocket Scraps Templates in the shop yesterday.

My problem though is that I always have soooo many photos to cram into only a few pages (4-6) per month that I'm not sure how I'll be able to keep it looking clean. Maybe I'll have to up the pages I allow in my annual album for pocket pages...

BTW - where did you find the Jan 2015 title template/card you used? I think I need to get that!!

Thanks, ladies! I'm still playing with it, but I think the idea is growing on me. We'll see how it goes!

I generally do 8 pages a month, but I hear you on having too many photos sometimes! I'm going to use some photo collages in the 4x6 spots for those times when I have more photos. I'm also going to shake up the overall design to suit my photos this year. Last year I used all Design A and I want to be a bit more flexible this year.

The Jan 2015 title is from 2015 Pocket Scraps Date Card Templates 1 by Misty.

Thanks Heddy! I don't know how I missed those templates!

I use photo collages too - the photos end up so tiny sometimes, but I guess that's better than not being in the album at all.

I am changing not necessarily how I scrap aesthetically, but I am changing they way I got about my yearly book... last year was a photo and journaling for EVERY day, that got old fast and I sputtered out in Aug. Im still printing that book though lol.
This year I want to go back to weekly two pagers and just have willy nilly photos from the week with random journaling. Hopefully I can sustain that longer.

I'm going to try more of the PL style in an attempt to stay current and I'm switching to 8.5x11 for all my scrapping. This is the start of my 2015 PL album (I throw NYE in with 2015).

I'm loving the 8.5x11 size too. Do you know if there are different page protectors out there for that size?

I don't think there is Kristin. I'm going to be printing mine out as a full sheet and just sticking them in the regular 8.5x11 page protectors. Super simple for me.

That does make sense. I might look around at photo book options for that size too. I have struggled with doing hybrid PL in the past because of the sheer size of 12x12.. I just find it SO big lol!

I find 12x12 big too! I'm going to print mine as a photo book this year. Either 8x8 or 10x10 size, depending on the price.

Loving these! Misty, will you be releasing any 8.5x11 templates? I still have lots of older photos waiting to be scrapped from years when all my LOs were rectangle.

I'm going 8x8 this year. My actual yearly book will be clean and simple so I get it done but I'll still be doing layering type layouts for vacations and events.

10x10 is my all time favorite size. I try to print all of my vacation photobooks in that size. (Sometimes I have to do another size to take advantage of a coupon or because I have rectangular pages.) If there were albums and page protectors available for 10x10 pages, I'd make the switch for all of my scrapping.

8.5x11 photobooks aren't that easy to find, unfortunately. Shutterfly offers them but only in landscape. The closest Adoramapix gets in portrait is 8x10 or 9x12. Blurb has 8x10 in portrait or landscape. I haven't looked beyond that.

Love it! I might going A4 size this year and want to stick with a black and white color scheme like SugarBabe Lynnette did with her pages last year, the photos were really pop!

Loving the clean simple lines on these, but wonder if I would get bored. I do need to simplify this year for sure though!!

Default Changing up style for 2015

How do I change the style sheets for each gallery w/o editing each individual gallery?

I like the clean look for PL pages so the photos really stand out. I don't do PL pages but if I did that's the way I'd want to do it. i have always been a minimalist scrapper but this year I started using more brushes and blending.
