Default Help!! Resizing Paper in a clipping mask

Hi All!
I'm hoping I can get some advice. I'm soooo stuck! I've made a clipping mask on a new layer. Then brought in the paper I want to use and then clipped it into the mask I created. However, I want to resize the paper I clipped but it won't let me. I'm not able to grab the paper I brought in and clipped by the corners to resize. It won't let me grab it at all. Is there some setting I'm missing???? Thank you in advance for any guidance you can give me. Urrrrr!!!!

If you click on the layer and then drag it in... does that work? Otherwise, can you delete the paper, resize it, and then put the paper back in?

Thanks for responding Kristin! I've clipped it in with "alt". I guess I could resize it first but then I guess I didn't need the clipping mask I created first. I just thought I should be able to resize it once it is in the mask. Like in a template once you clip a paper to a layer you are still able to resize it. For some reason I'm not able to do that. It is sooo weird. Maybe it is a setting or a preference or something?? I losing my mind trying to figure it out!!

is it possible the paper is bigger than your view? Maybe if you zoom out you can see the "transform" corners?

Or, can you resize manually in the toolbar? Or maybe your "move tool" isn't selected? Or, hit ctrl+t... does the box show up then?

I use CS4, too. What I do is click on the paper layer in the layers pallet and hit CTRL + T on the keyboard. This opens the free transform option, and you should be able to grab the corners to resize from there.

Just a side not, My "Show Transform Controls" is checked. So I thought that would show my transform tool all the time so I wouldn't need to click Control+T. Weird!!
