Paper Scrapbooking
I have a ton of paper scrapped scrapbooks that I’d like to digitize. Ive seen wide format scanners plus the type that scan open books.
Has anyone tried either types of these? The other option I’ve seen suggested is to photograph the pages. I’m remodeling a craft room and had to move all these plus everything else out of the room. Not sure I want to do with these albums. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a smaller scanner at home, and it's supposed to be good, but I find my camera captures the page better. If I were you, I'd take a scrapbook to the scanner shop and get them to scan a sample page for you before you commit to buying it. Compare their printout against the same page you took a photo of. Easier then to decide what looks better. I used to paper scrap 12x12. Now I've gone digital at 8x8 size, I can't imagine going back to the big books. The 8x8 and 10x10 are much handier sizes.

I thought about investing in a newer digital camera instead of a scanner. I don’t take many pictures anymore so I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do that or not. However, if I had a newer one I might start taking pictures again. thanks for your input.

I would go for the camera! It's so much easier and quicker. If it were me, I would be worried about scratching the glass of my scanner with the elements on my sb pages.
If you don't want to invest in either, is there a copy service in your area? Maybe the office supply stores could do it for you at a reasonable price.

I have no idea what would be better.
I also have tons of paper scrapping books from my early days.... I would like to scan then in, I also want to scan in ALL our older photos too. Then I can have fun re-scrapping my babies. |

Surely there's an app you could use. We used Evernote to scan all of my father in law's old sermons a few years ago; it was for documents, but there's bound to be one for photos. It'd be kind of tricky to get the right angle for just a picture, I would think.

I scanned old photos at my husband's office on their copier, which does much more than just make copies. And it was free! I have many more photos to scan. Maybe it would work for scrapbook pages, too

I’ve got several scanner apps. I’ve just put this off good for too long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would scan them on a regular scanner. You can scan them, and then stitch them together in PSE.

I scraplifted most of my paper albums into digital but kept my hybrid albums. I just love the bulk of hybrid as it isn't quite as bulking as my paper albums.
