Tips on blogging

OK all you pro bloggers, I need some tips and suggestions.

I am thinking about starting a blog next year and need your ideas, pros, cons...just general things. Best blog sites, how to start, anything really.

Gimme your knowledge oh great and knowing bloggers. LOL Thanks!

either blogger or wordpress would be my platforms of choice-blogger lets you have maximum customization, wordpress has simplicity but a lot of flexibility without you having to mess with coding.

Start with what kind of blog you want-family, scrap, photography, food, all purpose and work from there. How often do you want to blog, minimum? I'd start with once a week and work from there. Don't try to do too much too fast- you can always do mroe once you have started and enjoy it, but you don't want to promise to blog every day and then realize you dread it. Just start simple and work into it.

I just got a posterous account. If you want to do a lot of photos, this one will automatically order them into a slideshow. It's pretty user friendly, though, since all youtube links automatically upload as a video, all photos upload and organize (but can be reorganized), and really work well.

In the past I have used both Blogger and Wordpress. Blogger is VERY customizable, but I feel like Wordpress is very user-friendly. It depends on what you want!
