Default Windows 7 and Fonts

Okay help.

I have windows 7 on my new computer. I installed font explorer b/c that's what I used on my old pc for font viewing and installing. I'm not doing anything different than I've always done and for some reason my fonts won't stay installed. I can open PSP and then open font explorer and install them and then use them during that session, but if I close PSP and then go back and open the fonts are gone again and I have to go back and reinstall.

So am I missing something here? I don't want to have to reinstall my fave fonts every single time I want to use them.

In Windows 7 you just have to right click the font style to install it. And you can select multiple files (using shift and CTRL) and install them all with one right click.

I don't know anything about font installers, but I have to copy all of my fonts {by right clicking and copy" and then paste them ALL in your Windows Font Folder undr your "C" drive. That is the only way I know how to have all of your fonts showing.

It could be that the "Font Installer" isn't working properly under Windows 7. Is it a 3rd party program? I would do like the other gals suggested and do it straight in windows. (rather than some 3rd party program) and right click on the fonts (or multiple of them) and then choose install.

Right but I don't want ALL my fonts installed because I have so many..that's why I've always used a font viewer..it's always worked in XP and vista so I'm not sure what's going on with windows 7.

I have no luck with font viewers in windows 7, so I've just manually installed my favorites.

Yeah, I have my favorite fonts installed permanently, and then use the Font Xplorer to browse and then install them temporarily. I had so many installed it was bogging up my computer, so I uninstalled them all and then just went through the list to install the ones I use all the time, and then I go to my Font Xplorer for anything else. Good luck!

I just use Font Xplorer to open my font folder and then use my fonts from there as they all come up in my font list in PSP. I have to open Font Xplorer each time, but it is not a big hassle, so I don't mind. I like seeing all my choices and though I do have a few favorites, I've never felt the need to download them directly to my computer because I've heard that fonts can really slow things down.

I don't have any experience with Font Explorer because I couldn't get it to work for me. I've been trying out this program called Nexus Font that I've never heard anyone talk about, but it seems to work in Windows 7 for me and allows me to temporarily load groups of fonts without closing the program.

Yup, this is me too. I didn't have to fiddle with any settings. I like it because I can view fonts and it looks like Windows Explorer. You can also install fonts temporarily.

Okay I installed AMP and I remember now why I switched from it to Font Explorer...it freezes every single time I try to install a font. It will install it but then the program freezes up and I have to close it down and restart it.

Very frustrating.

I have a new computer with Windows 7 too, but I don't use a font manager. I just install all my fonts to Windows - all 2000 or so of them.
