This is the 2nd one I ever did. I have to go find the first one. Love those floating stitches. I'm not sure I've really improved that much - looks kind of like ones I still do! LOL
My plan was to only use digi for my sports layouts so I could get them done quickly as I was doing athlete albums for all my boys. Wyatt's is actually up-to-date, but I'm still working on the other 3. And I haven't done a paper layout since. |

Oh my gosh - scary! Here are some of my earliest pages from 2007:
Check out the awesome paper tear and selective coloring in this baby: Oh yeah - check out that amazing extraction! Well - that's more than enough I think. I'm so grateful that time brings improvement.

I remember that first layout of yours, K!
This is not my first layout, but from the first couple weeks of scrapping. I uploaded it to SBB on March 15, 2003. Here's another 'gem.' Please take note of the incredible shampoo bottle I created in PS. Back in the dark ages, elements were few and far between, so sometimes even people like me had to improvise. |

I love threads like this. It's so interesting to see how we've all grown as scrappers. :-)
My first layout was a CD cover as doing CD covers was all I wanted to do: Two months later I started doing layouts. At that time I didn't do any shadowing and was clinging to the idea that layouts HAD be about children, so I did loads of stuff for my friends (glad about it, too - about the gifts I mean, the shadowing is a sad story :-). This was my first real layout then:

so funny!
the very first pages i ever did were for a travel scrapbook i did for my nephew - i never uploaded the pictures and they are hidden somewhere on an old EHD. those were probably from mid/late 2006. i do have these beauties from early 2007, though - some of the first LOs i ever put online ...

I think these were really my first 2... in January 2007. However, none of my layouts after these look anything like them. I learned a lot after I did these.

This is so funny!
These aren't my very first...I don't even know what happened to those..I have them printed but they've not been on my hard drive in years. These are from the first month or so that I started uploading to galleries in 2005...my little bald guy I even have the date wrong on the first one..b/c Avery was over a year old in Sept. 2006 lol

My very first dated May 29, 2004. In the write up, I actually say I preferred paper more, but I didn't use any kit, just the marquee tool and paint bucket, and a very stretched picture...yikes.
My first one using a kit. |

I can't find my very first one, but here's one from 2005. Look how you can't even read the journaling, and it's so out of proportion with the page. Yikes!

This wasn't my first ever, but it's the first I have uploaded (and I'm pretty sure my first ever layout is long gone) - except in the book for my MIL where it is printed and preserved for all of time...ack!!
My old layouts were RANDOM. I can totally see how I became dependent on templates - I can't put together a cohesive layout to save my life!

It's so funny to see all these old kits that I recognize! I guess the digi world was so much smaller back then we all had the same kits lol

I can't believe I'm posting these, so embarassing-
First one ever- Feb 2008 (I didn't like it and didn't try digi again for a while) May 2008- May 2008- I obviously did not understand drop shadows at all.

My first layout used this kit. I have fond memories of it. Celebrate by Gina Cabrera
Quote:
I think I posted mine before in an old thread... here they are again though... December 2004 My first page obviously had NO dropshadows. My second had a tiny shadow. My third page though, YIKES. I tried to brush on the shadows myself after reading about that in some tutorial. Looked funky. |

Mine are from 2007, when I started. Man, these suck. I have always wanted to go back and redo them! I apparently had no idea about shadows!

Not sure what my very first was...some of the old galleries are long gone, as is my original hard drive.
These are some of my earliest, from 2007. Note the ginormous stitching and the lack of shadows...I thought this was great at the time. LOL And this gem, which I was very proud of at the time: And I'll admit...I still love this one...just wish I had known how to make shadows...the only ones on this page are the shadows from the template that I used. Still love the kit though...maybe I should re-do it the right way

I will play. These make me cringe a bit...before I learned about shadows. The first two were with Traci Reed kits from back in the day, I believe. I don't have credits on these because I don't know that I ever posted them.

OMG Kristin! I just busted out laughing!! The design is a great idea, with framing the art, but that extraction is HILARIOUS!! Much better than I could do when I first started, I'm sure.
