Default Best recipe for:

French toast casserole??

I don't eat french toast, so I need a tried and true recipe, please! I see tons on Pinterest, but I'd love it if someone has actually made it and liked it. And I need a casserole recipe, not just french toast.

Hee hee - I bought an entire recipe book on French toast!! I haven't tried this one but it looks really good..

Rise 'n' Shine Breakfast Souffle

1 loaf day-old French bread, cubed (about 8 cups)
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
1/2 C diced fresh flat-leaf parsley
8 large eggs
4 C milk
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp seasoned salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 C diced tomatoes
1/2 C diced cooked bacon

Generously spray a 4 qt baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Toss bread cubes with half of the cheese and then place mixture in baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese and parsley over top. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and spices. Pour mixture over bread and cheese. Sprinkle tomatoes and bacon on top and cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator and bring to room temp (about 30 min). Bake, uncovered, at 375 for 45 - 50 min or until puffed and lightly browned. Makes 4-6 servings.
