me either.
could have been the big, hairy husband next to me going, jeez, 'another cheesy song?' 'you gonna cry like a baby?' had i been watching by myself, then yes, the answer would be yes.

I didn't cry, though I was sad for him. I keep thinking that the episodes this season are more about the singing than the storyline and it bugs me a bit. It feels like song..30 seconds of show..song..song...10 seconds of show..

i totally said this last week with the britney episode. what happened to how they used to incorporate the song into the storyline. they sort of reverted back to it this week when rachel sang the babs song, but i dunno. the songs do pertain to the story i guess, just aren't a part of them like they were last year.

Yeah I cried. Cried like a baby a couple of times. But I'm the girl who cries every time at the beginning and end of Up! and now I have caught myself crying at the end of Monsters Inc. So I am not a good barometer for these things.

Glee makes me teary eyed every episode, even if it isn't a sad one. LOL I do agree that the show seems less plot heavy this season, and the emphasis is just on the music. I love it anyways!

I didn't.
I was so appalled by Finn praying to his sandwich that I couldn't get into the episode. It wasn't that I was offended because I'm a Christian, but it's just such a stupid thing to do, and it wasn't like they were playing it off as tongue in cheek, a la a Seth MacFarlane cartoon, but he was seriously earnestly praying to a friggin' sandwich all episode. The whole ep felt very off to me with the super serious Kurt story happening at the same time as the stupid Finn story happening at the same time as [insert random slow cheesy spiritual song here] was happening. I appreciated that they did an ep abt faith, but I think it was very poorly done. I am really hoping this season picks up because I am beyond disappointed thus far in how it is haphazardly bumbling along like it got too big for its britches too quickly and doesn't know what to do to live up to its own hype. |

I think they are focusing on the songs more because they are making a killing on them.

Just watched it and bawled like a baby. Not so much about the songs & whatnot - but about Kurt's dad. When he was singing "I want to hold your hand" and they were doing flashbacks, I lost it and bawled my eyes out. And then again at the end when his dad reacted to what he was saying. Oh my.

Is there an episode next week? We're a day behind you guys, and it just ended now and I was very upset by the announcer saying it's not on next week here

Big, ugly bawling tears from about 15 minutes in until the end. It was pathetic, but cathartic.
P.S. Who would have though "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" could be so emotional?

Kim, I said the exact same thing to Andrew about I Wanna Hold Your Hand! I never would have thought that song could be made into something so heart wrenching and beautiful. Anyone else notice the absolutely uncanny resemblance between the flashback younger Kurt and current Kurt? I thought for sure that they'd brought in Colfer's younger brother to play the role, but the actor is named Adam Kolkin. |

I thought Finn praying to a sandwich was hilarious, personally. It's no different than anyone else seeing "Jesus" or "Mary" in their toast IRL and that normally makes the news. He thought the sandwich was a direct line to Jesus, not that the sandwich was the deity himself, otherwise he would've referenced "Grilled Cheezus" as the reason for his religion. That was all addressed when he went to see Emma, IMO.

I haven't seen last night's episode. I watched the show for the first time yesterday (2 episodes from the end of last season) just to see what the hype was all about and, truthfully, I didn't like it much. I'll probably watch a couple more episodes just to see if I can get into it. I liked the music a lot, but the show really didn't do it for me.

I thought grilled cheezus was pretty funny but I didn't like the episode as a whole. Something just feels off this season and I can't quite put my finger on it. I don't know if they are trying to force songs to go with storylines or they are forcing storylines to go with songs. But the last 2 shows have been disappointing to me.

I thought the episode was great. It presented religion and the questions kids feel aboutnit brilliantly. And the grilled cheesus was just some irreverence thrown in which is nice every know and then.
I bawled my eyes out from the video of young Kurt. I bawled from sue and her sister. It was fantastic But then again, I love me some yentl

I finally watched it, and I cried multiple times. I was okay until Kurt starting talking about watching his mother's coffin being lowered into the ground. Lost it then and every time they came back to the storyline afterward.
I think this season is off, too. The characters just aren't relating to each other the way they did last season. There hasn't been any forward movement in the friendships or romantic relationships, other than what happened tonight related to Kurt's dad. Last year there were storylines that carried through the season, like Quinn's pregnancy and Will's feelings for Emma. This year feels like a series of stand alone episodes with too many contrived situations meant to showcase the songs (last week's dentist chair ep, anyone?) and too little real feeling or "real teen" moments. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it will improve, but I hope it happens soon.
