Depends on what kind they are I only eat the kind you buy frozen with ketchup. If it's fast food - BK - ranch, Wendy's alone or occasionally dipped in a frosty, don't like McD fries and Arby's alone. Potato wedges must be eaten with ranch

Regular fries - ketchup. Sweet potato fries - mayo mixed with Siracha. Sounds weird but it's so good!

I mostly like them plain, but do occasionally use ketchup or some other dipping sauce. Ranch is not commonly offered as an option in the PNW. Ranch doesn't sound disgusting, but I'm not sure I'd be able to get past the amount of fat in the fries and the ranch together! lol

I don't mind ketchup but my fave is mayo mixed with a bit of plain greek yogurt, a few squirts of ranch and a few squirts of hot sauce....yum! I dip my pizza crust in that too and it makes a good dressing for taco salad.

Is that ketchup and mustard mixed together? I like that for fries that I make at home.

It's ketchup mixed with mayonnaise. Some brands have relish in there too, but I like it plain.

Big, fat fries = ranch, curly fries = cheese, skinny fries = ketchup. I like variety!

Definitely fry sauce! It's the best! I asked for some at a McDonald's once when visiting in Seattle and they looked at me like I was a crazy person. They had no clue what I was referring to. People don't know what they are missing out on!

Want to try it??
Mix 1/2 ketchup, 1/2 mayo = fry sauce. It's delicious!

I think that has more to do with it being a McDonald's than being in Seattle ha, ha Lots of places in Seattle serve fry sauce ... maybe not all fast food restaurants, but everywhere else. There isn't a ton of fast food industry in Seattle, so I don't think much effort goes into the menus. I live in a super concentrated area with not a single fast food restaurant close by.

... and because I'm a total dork https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fry_sauce

I eat fries plain with the exception of waffle fries or thick-cut fries... those I like to dip in honey mustard.

Fry sauce all the way! I'll make do with ranch or ice-cream or even the horseadish sauce at Arby's, but if they have fry sauce it'll be that.

Ketchup.

I am not currently eating fries so I would probably be willing to dip them in anything listed above in order to be able to eat them at all!

Malted vinegar for sure, and tomato sauce. We usually have a dipping bowl of each, or just sprinkle the vinegar onto the chips then dip in the sauce.

Hahahahaha love it Sheri! We have a restaurant here called Training Table and they do it with BBQ and mayo and it is pretty much the most amazing thing ever. I have tried to replicate it, but it doesn't even come close! I'm not a huge mayo fan so I'm pretty sure I skimp on the mayo portion of it. I add more ketchup to everything!

Here we eat fries with grated feta cheese on top. I don't usually dip them but when I do, it's ketchup.

I am from the Netherlands so a kroket or frikandell needs to go with it
they have a new thing on the frikandell that is really strange it is mayo with discodip like small candy sprinkle you put on cupcakes but i am afraid to try it

It is here in Maine Kristin - but then we're mistaken for being part of Canada a lot of the time (seriously, flatlanders will often say, "I thought Maine was part of Canada"). I don't care for gravy on anything though, so vinegar all the way for fries.

Usually if they're salty enough then plain. Occasionally ketchup or ranch. At Burger King I like the zesty onion rings sauce for my fries. At Wendy's then in the frosty. At SteaknShake then cheese sauce. Everywhere else usually plain.

Jup, no gonna try the discodel. Sprinkles don't go with a frikandel...

I usually eat my fries with ketchup. Even though I'm Dutch, I prefer ketchup over mayo.
