Default Smoothies- Pre Planning

a spin off from la's thread...

I would like to be doing more smoothies but I find that they take a lot of time.. and I'm lazy.

Are there things you do to pre-plan and make the process go extra quick?

I've heard that you can freeze your yogurt cubes, and put together baggies with the yogurt, fruits, and veggies in the freezer so it's just grab from the freezer, add milk/juice and go.

I keep kale and bananas in the freezer to use in my smoothies, but other than that...nothing really gets done ahead of time. What do you put in yours that makes they take longer? I just use frozen fruit, frozen kale, chia seeds, hemp protein powder, and a little juice or something to get it going.

I use mostly frozen fruits so everything is already bagged. I don't freeze my spinach because I don't like the way it blends frozen. I also have a Nutri-Bullet so I literally only have the blade, straw, and cup to wash when I'm done and it all goes in the dishwasher.

For liquids I usually use coconut water or unsweetened almond milk...adds some extra flavor. I don't ever put yogurt in mine.

well. i'm avoiding your house for breakfast.. LOL.

the boys both use almond milk and coconut yogurt.. I.. can have neither, so i'm going to have to make myself stomach some dairy yogurt for my smoothies. It's a complicated matter here.. LOL

Lol! You can always use water. You don't have to use dairy. My green smoothie this morning had spinach, water, mango and pineapple. I was all out of other liquids.

My kids will take a few drinks but they won't ever have a whole glass. They don't want anything to do with my smoothies that actually look green but will try those that end up a fruity looking color.

Well I tried to make a smoothie this morning. It turned into frozen yogurt.lol. I didn't add enough liquor ( hahahha my phone autocorrected to liquor and I'm leaving it. But really I meant liquid ) and I think I need to defrost the fruit a little tomorrow but I tried. So go me. Lol. I have to avoid excessive amounts of greens so I need to figure out something else to add. Today was just straight up fruit.

I buy the bags of baby kale, baby spinach, romaine lettuce and celery from Costco. We chop lettuce and celery (in big chunks (1-1.5 inches, mix all 4 and fill up quart size freezer bags. Freeze them and take one bag at a time in the morning. Then, I just add one apple and one banana to my smoothie besides the bag of greens. Nothing to clean except the jar. I also add other stuff like chia seeds, flex seeds and sunflower seeds, which I keep them mix in one jar and add 2 TBSP of it in my smoothie.
