Default Readers Help Me Out

I get most of my reading material from the library, which means I often have to wait a few weeks to get the books I want. Occasionally several books on my wait list all come in at the same time.

The following books all came in this week and while I think I might be able to get through all of them before they are due, I probably won't, so I need to prioritize. Of these books, what should I read first?

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
City of Women by David R. Gillham
Wool by Hugh Howey
The Monuments Men by Robert M. Edsel

Haven't read any of these, but I just added them all to my Kindle Wish List! And from looking at them, I'd probably read "Wool" first.

That's what I was thinking. Though I need another book for my TBR pile like I need a hole in my head. I tend to read mostly YA or Romance, but am always up for something good.

I'd recommend Wool too, because it's a great story AND it's a pretty quick read, so you might be able to get on to the other books quickly.

I'm an avid reader, but haven't heard of Wool, so I'm adding it to my list. Thanks for the suggestion!

Wool part 1 is free... it's actually 5 parts that make up the whole book. But it would give you a little taste of what it's about to see if you want to read the rest (and you will cause it juts gets better and better).

There are 2 other books in the series after this, too. Shift & Dust.

I did finish it Libby. I really enjoyed it. It's not my typical genre, so that's saying a lot.

did you just read wool one or did you read the whole thing? I read the whole thing after reading this thread and it was actually pretty good! I was disappointed by the second part, and the ending to the whole thing, but the rest was really good.

I just read Wool. I'd like to read the rest eventually, but I was ready for something different after I finished the first one.

Bummer that you found the ending unsatisfying. I really hate it when that happens.

it just ended abruptly. I tend to dislike endings of books anyway like the end of the hunger games series made me throw the book, haha!

Adi, did you read Shift & Dust, too? Those will fill in a lot of the information that you find missing in the ending of Wool (though admittedly, Shift raises more questions than it answers, I think).

are shift and dust a part of the wool omnibus? I read that... I dont remember seeing anything about shift and dust though so I'm thinking they're separate books?

Right... There's the Wool Omnibus which consists of 5 parts. Then there's a whole separate book called Shift Omnibus (3 parts) and another called Dust.

Both of them are available for lending on Lendle if you don't want to buy it. (I borrowed them myself or I'd offer to lend them to you)

I *think* Wool 6-8 is actually Shift 1-3. LOL It's all so confusing cause originally it was released as a series of short stories. Then, they were packaged as books. So, I think that's why the number is so weird there.
