Default Flickr question

Are any of you guys familiar with flickr? I've never used it at all, but I've got a project that I'm trying to figure out here.

I'm helping my sister host a fundraising walk later this month for Chiari Malformation (a neurological disorder that she suffers with). One of the things she wants to do is have a photo booth where people will dress up with crazy props and have their photo taken. There won't be a professional photographer there or anything... it'll just be one of us snapping pics.

We want a place where we can upload the pics and that people can log in (with the generic password that we'll set up) and download the high res pics for printing.

Will Flickr work for something like that? And if not, do you have a better suggestion?

I'm pretty sure Flickr will be perfect for that! Though I don't think you'll need to give people a password for the pictures - just a link to the album. I could be wrong though. I'm sure someone else who is super efficient with Flickr will pop on with the exact answer for you

What she said. As long as you have the permissions set up okay, they can view and download the full res photos.

It's way easier/faster to download multiple images in Dropbox, so i prefer it for photo sharing, but the free accounts are only around 2GB ...also seems like people would only be downloading a handful of pics at a time, so Flickr might be better if their free account is larger

Hmmmm I hadn't considered dropbox. I use that a lot when I'm collabing with other designers, but I'm not sure how easy it would be for this project. At most, we're going to have like 200 people at the walk, and I'm thinking most people will photograph in groups and have a handful of poses taken. The 2GB file limit might be an issue though if I'm wanting to load the high res photos for printing.

I'll check it out!

I'd do Flickr. It's fairly easy to use, I'd just include instructions on how to download. I

Yes you can only view up to 200 photos at a time and there is a monthly cut off on how much space you account can use. (This is why I pay for mine, lol) But it is great for using for others to get full sized pictures from. I've been using it since Mason was born for family members to get pictures of the kids from. (Because I resize all my FB photos to web size, lol)

Oh but even when I had my free account I was able to upload something like 50-60 photos a month, and my photo file sizes are huge since I take them at the largest size possible on my camera.
