Default I have a sneak peek question.

Is it a SSD "thing" to spell Sneak Peek as Sneak PEAK (peek spelled with incorrect usage). I'm not trying to be a meanie here I'm just curious cause at first I thought it was a mistake but then I see it everywhere like that and am wondering if it's just the "SSD thing to do" LOL.

Please don't tar and feather me. I ask this question in love with no judgments made LOL

No, I don't think it's a SSD thing, I think that it's just a common spelling mistake! LOL!

LOL - I don't know. I new here. But that's a good question because I just put together my sneak peeks and now am wondering if I should have used the 'alternate' spelling.

Yea, what bree said.

This is what bugs me about the english language. Why does there have to be words with two different meanings and spellings but sound the same. So silly.

Oh I'm so embarrassed. I usually am pretty proud of my good spelling... and look what I did in my post! Oh well, I fixed it.

Thank God you brought this up, E. You know how much it sets off my Inner Editor, but I was just going to let it go outta love.

But now that you brought it up... YES! It's peAk as in mountain and peEk as in sneak.

I think sneak being spelled with an 'ea' is what confuses the 'ee/ea' business.

Ok girls - really I did not mean to offend anyone and hope I didn't, I just was thinking maybe it was a cutie SSD thing kwim? Honestly I bet most people don't even notice it one way or the other - I was actually chatting with a friend and she mentioned it to me and I realized that most of the "peeks" I see are "peaks" LOL.

total error on my part, I know how it should be spelled and I blame it on lack of sleep (I just had to stay up past my bedtime last night to watch ER ... and then spend time with hubby ... and then eat a cinnamon roll cause he was eating one ... and then watch some more TV cause he was watching ...)
I am off to fix all my boo boos

Well - it could be peAk as in meringue and go with the whole theme here?

I'm ashamed to admit I never even noticed, and those types of mistakes are usually big pet peeves of mine

Well, since LA said it.... yeah, that's me all over. Plus I know if I correct one thing, then it just won't stop and next thing I know, you're calling me the Spelling Nazi...

Then again, I'm horrified at my own spelling a lot of times, and I totally don't even realize I've done it! I get multitasking, and trying to reply to too many things at once, and my brain is off somewhere else all together... usually trying to lure me to shop, or some idea has sprung into my head and I've drifted off thinking about that...

And to complicate matters even further, peak, as in the mountain variety, is spelled with the A and not the EE.
