NSBR how to wake up with killer heartburn
So I have had this ongoing toothache problem. It ONLY happens at night for some reason, and usually if I eat something it stops. Weird I know. But I woke up at about 3-4 a.m. and it hurt so I popped a pill and I was lazy and didn't want to come allllllll the way back downstairs for something to eat. There was a york peppermint patty on my bedside table and a flat Diet Dr. Pepper so I ate the candy, washed it down with the hot soda and my mouth quit hurting right?
NOW this morning OMG my stomach hurts so bad it aint' EVEN funny. Worst case of heartburn in world history, I mean call Guinness. I think I'd rather have my teeth hurt! YIKES. What a way to wake up and start the day. So consider this your PSA for the day and stay away from peppermint and flat soda in the middle of the night, lol

Oh well that's just not fair. Good news though.....apparently Crunch Berries cereal and MORE diet dr. pepper seems to be the cure :P

Glad that it's gone away now, but I imagine that wasn't any fun!
The only time I've had heartburn was when I was pregnant with Mason, DH and I were driving home from my parents and eating pizza flavored Spitz. Anyhow I had this ache in my chest and my back hurt and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I stopped eating them for a while and it went away...then when I ate more, it came back. Took me almost the entire 8 hour trip to realize what the cause was, lol! |

If I get heartburn when I'm pregnant I'm going to cry for 9 straight months. I have tummy issues as it is, the last thing I need is to add heartburn on top.

Not sure if you were talking to me, but I'm on a medecine for my issues. When it got to the point that I was vomiting every day, twice a day, I decided I needed to go to the dr, lol. I take Zegurid (40mg) every morning. It's a cousin of prilosec and protonix, but a script instead of over the counter.

it was probably the pill that was hurting ... because the pepermint patty didn't give you rstomach anything to absorb the medicine. The cereal worked because of the carb/starch in it LOL

i find that beating my chest and threatening my body that i will take it to the gym cures my heartburn.

Now see THAT'S my idea of a cure! lol It probably WAS the pill. I normally take a Ibuprofen/Tylenol combo my dentist prescribes (800 mg motrin with 500 mg tylenol, works WONDERS without the side effects of narcotics) but they were alllllll the way downstairs (sensing a trend? maybe I SHOULD go to the gym? LOL) so I took a Lortab. Bleck I hate those suckers!
