oh I really liked that book! I got it from the library months ago. I'll have to see how long the wait is to get it again so I can join the discussion. I did post this in the other Kristin Hannah thread-

I think any mother, any stay-at-home mom, will find this book stirring you. I know this is a book that I will dwell on for quite a while. And a lot of us will hear ourselves in this quote from the book--

"We're like that, we moms. We take the pictures, but we don't record our own lives very well. It's a mistake we never realize until it's too late..."

Your post is one reason I went with this one...I love Kristin Hannah books and for some reason this one just slipped my hands or something and I've never read it. I'm really excited to dive into it!

I'll have to see if it's available at one of our local libraries.

ok I got sucked in and finished phew..now I can work!!

It was soooooo good!! My ONLY criticism is I WISH so bad that it had an epilogue instead of just ending like it did.

I'll be back in a few days to discuss it more I want to give some a chance to get into the book!

I read it back in November, but I obviously came to a different conclusion than most of you.

I find that about a few of her books I've read..just wish they ended differently. I didn't like the ending of Firefly Lane either but it was better than On Mystic Lake to me (the ending/conclusion of the book..not the story itself)

Finished this one today. I too was disappointed in the ending, but my version had a Q&A with the author and she explained why she ended it that way. She actually wrote the ending we all wanted, but left it out of the final draft. She said we all knew what happened anyway.
