Default Photoshop Monthly/Yearly Payment?

Do many of you pay for photoshop by the month/year? I was surprised to see that you can no longer just buy the program but instead need a subscription. Do any of you do the subscription thing? How is it?

Not with Photo Shop but this is how we have Microsoft Office now (and eventually everything will be changing over to this method (more money in the long run for the company :S). So far it hasn't been too bad with just one program, but I can't imagine how it will be when it needs to be done for multiple (that little monthly fee will add up in a hurry). The Pros that I've seen so far (and I am not sure if photoshop does this the same way or not), but being allowed to have the program on multiple devices, and free upgrades... so when the new one is out you're going to be automatically upgraded.

Thanks Jenn. The free upgrades is all the advantage I can see but I have never tried anything like that. I could see that a bunch of subscriptions would add up quickly...

I do the photographers plan as well. Worth it for me! I used to upgrade to each new version annually anyway.

I have thought about it but I find there are months I don't even open Photoshop these days (as opposed to when I was designing regularly or in a high scrapping mode). I just plug along with my CS5.

We used to have the full suite of Adobe products (my hubby needed audio the software)... and an introductory rate... then it really jumped up in price. So we dropped it.. happy to have one less monthly bill... and for what I do, I'm happy with having Elements.

I have CS6 right now, so I don't feel I need it right now. I like the idea of having all upgrades, but I don't use Photoshop to its full potential to begin with, so I can live without the bells and whistles. I won't say that I haven't been tempted to get the photographer plan though! lol Maybe someday!

I bought CS6 before the subscriptions started. Haven't thought about upgrading, I'm sure one day I will though, just dreading that monthly bill.

I had PSE9 before I got the photographers plan in January. I pre-paid for the entire year and I'm really happy to have the full PS now.
