Default Ramona & Beezus or Despicable Me?

My daughter and I are planning another girls day soon and I really wanted to see something light and fun. I think they both look cute and something fun to see. I really loved the story Ramona and Beezus as a little girl. I read it to my daughter when she was younger too and she loved it as well....but seeing the preveiws of Despicable Me it looks really cute too. Has anyone seen these? If you saw both which do you think is the better movie? I obviously am not looking for the next blockbuster LOL just something that will have us laughing throughout the movie.

Haven't seen Ramona, but I did see Despicable Me. I laughed hysterically throughout the movie, as did everyone else in the theater! It was a fun movie. And seriously, I cannot think of ANY other movie I've ever seen, that when it ended, I said, "I don't want it to be over!" DS wants to go see it again (in 3D this time) and I am completely willing to do it. BTW, if you see it and have an iPhone, BestBuy has a movie app called Movie Mode that somehow works with the movie. Before the movie starts, you enter the app and it silences your phone. Then when the credits start rolling (and the credits are very cute) it vibrates to remind you to go back into Movie Mode because the app will translate what the Minions are saying. It's fun!

My 14 year old LOVED Despicable Me and she normally doesn't like shows like that. I really want to see it when it gets here.

We saw Despicable Me a few weeks ago...it was okay...I'd give it a B-. Rachel loved it though..."Ficable Me" is now one of her favorite movies.
Haven't seen, Beezus & Ramona yet though...REALLY looking forward to it...I loved Beverly Cleary's books when I was a kid.

Haven't seen Despicable Me, but did see Ramona & Beezus as a family and loved it. It was a sweet, funny, and mostly light-hearted movie. The girl who plays Ramona was great! The movie did not seem very true to the books, but that didn't detract for us.

We saw Despicable Me over the weekend. It is soo cute and fun! I really want to see Ramona & Beezus. I was a real fan of the books when I was a kid. I don't think you could go wrong either way, but since you're going with your daughter, I might lean toward Ramona. Seems like a fun movie for a girls' day out.

With all boys in the house we saw Dispicable Me. In 3D and regular. 3D was fun but regular was just as good. The boys laughed the ENTIRE time! LOL!! As did DH and myself. It was so funny!!

Hmm, I have seen both and I might lean toward Ramona & Beezus for a girl's day. I asked my kids and my 9yo son said he liked R&B better. My 6yo dd is having a tantrum right now and won't answer me.

Anyway, Ramona & Beezus doesn't stick super close to the books. It has a lot of memorable moments from the books but they are in different situations than what happened in the books.

I think Im going to see R&B with her then and leave Despicable Me for a day when she comes over to visit and get it on DVD when it comes out. I know she will like it as will I but R&B is such a huge part of my childhood and of hers I think it will be that much nicer to see it. I was just worried that after reading reveiws alot of people were saying it was only really good for kids 6-10 so I was worried it might be a little to babyish.

I just took my kids to see Despicable Me this evening. It was pretty good, although I really wouldn't have minded just waiting for it to come out on DVD. My son (6 1/2) loved it though!

I want to see Despicable Me, but it's not out here until October, we watched the trailer for it last night whilst waiting for Toy Story 3 to start!
