Default Is anyone using Adobe's Creative Cloud service?

I know I don't really hang out here very much, but you all are always the first people I think of when it comes to this stuff. I'm looking to either move my PS off our main pc and onto my laptop, or just purchase a newer version but when I started searching Adobe's store this Creative Cloud thing is everywhere. What in the heck is this? I can't seem to find PS that isn't a monthly plan and I'm getting sooooo confused.

I'm using it. It is a monthly plan where you pay for whichever programs you use and always have the newest updated version available. I have the smallest plan which includes PS and Lightroom. For me it's working out great. But it was a bit confusing when I was first looking for PS like you are now.

You can only get newer versions of PS as the cloud now.

Ok, that's the plan I was looking at. I think it's 9.99 a month? So weird that you can't just outight buy it. How long have you been using it?

I've been using it since September, but only PS as I haven't had time to figure out Lightroom yet.

I have CC and have been using it for at least a year. I love how it's always updated, and it has all the other programs I like to use!

Ive been using photoshop under the cloud service for a year. Its only 10 bucks a month and most importantly, if it crashes there is a backup for what youre working on... shows up when you restart.

It's $12 something here. For PS and Lightroom only.

I use it. Despite the fact that I hate the idea of a subscription service, I like it and will continue to use it as long as they keep the price reasonable (I pay $10/month).

I pay $9.99 US/month for PS and LR. That's reasonable to me since I was always upgraded my PS with each addition anyway.

Same here, I have the photographer's plan which is $9.99 a month, I'm happy with it. I've been using it since late 2013.

If you decide to go with CC, just read the fine print for your specific deal. On some past threads about CC I think I remember one or two people saying that the great price they started with turned out to be only a one year intro deal.

I'm still using my PSCS6 for now and am not ready to upgrade to CC, so I hope that the $10-ish/month price is still available when I am (ie, when mine is too outdated for a future computer to run). If the cost goes up too much from that I'll need to look for an alternative.

I also have the PS and Lightroom deal for $9.99 a month. I think it's almost been a year or just over. For me it made sense at the time as I was looking to buy Lightroom. I wasn't a big fan of a subscription monthly thing but I like that it updates automatically and I don't have to wait until the next time I choose to upgrade.

Oh I never looked at the photography plan. $120 a year is reasonable. I really only use ps. I use AI once a month so I wouldn't need it.

I use Bridge because it came with my CS5 so I'm glad the basic package has Lightroom. I would've needed some other way to organize and tag all my stuff.

OMG, I just realized that I'll have to go in and re-tag EVERYTHING.

I'm still using CS4 because I'm hesitant to use the cloud service. I use Illustrator and Photoshop both a ton so a package for them would be awesome.

The student package has both PS and AI. La you would qualify for that.

Looks like the student package is one that is for first year. After that it's almost double per month.

Does the Cloud version of PS still have Bridge? I know, Lightroom is what most people prefer and I'd be getting it anyhow - just curious. I'm very fond of Bridge. You are a bunch of enablers, I never planned to go cloud (single app for 25 EUR a month? Nope), but the photography deal sounds reasonable.

I keep thinking about joining, it's £8 a month here but I'm scared to delete my trusty old cs3 in case my laptop is too old to run another programme then I'll be left with nothing. Maybe I'll join when I get a new laptop in a few months time!

I don't think it does At first I was a little miffed that Bridge isn't listed because I've never used Lightroom, but I've been having this weird issue with Bridge the last 2 years. Every once in awhile it totally resets for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. I lose all my favorites folders and stuff. One time it deleted all my tags and then they mysteriously showed up again about 3 months later. I kept Googling how to fix this problem and it turns out that not only is it a common problem, but Adobe has no solution for it.

Has that ever happened to you? So, I'm willing to give Lightroom a shot if I don't have to curse Bridge's name when it deletes my stuff.

Huh, no! But the tags are weird sometimes. I changed the place for the cache some time ago and my tags disappeared. Resigned to doing them again, they re-appeared after a couple of days. Also, PS tends to reset itself at least once a week. Happily that's not too annoying as it's just the visuals that get changed.

So, Lightroom can do everything that Bridge does, right? I don't see myself switching too soon, but one day I'm sure I will.

I have bridge with mine.

I had CS5, but I lost my upgrade disc, so I was still using CS3, this was one of my biggest reasons for upgrading, my raw files wouldn't show up in CS3 bridge, but since i could get bridge with CC, I did it.

I also have the $9.99/mo photographer's plan (with PS, LR & ACR/Bridge which is a must for my 6D's RAW files). I'm super happy with it, been using it since November 2013 I think.
