Default What's the grossest food product ever?

in your opinion obv ...

I detest frosting. I do not eat cupcakes or cake because I think it is vile. VILE.

so I've decided it is THE worst food product on the planet (Which is saying a lot... because I hate a lot of things :P )

I also hate tuna. But frosting is worse :P

I will never eat tuna though.. I'm sure I told you (kristin) the story, but when I was younger, I was really sick one day and my younger brother decided to be sweet and make me something for lunch... So he nuked some canned tuna fish in the microwave and tried to force feed it to me. Traumatized.

Do you like cool whip? Because I don't like frosting that much, but I will smother baked goods in cool whip. At a potluck at work this week, they had cool whip for the pumpkin pie. I took the cool whip and put it in between two chocolate chip cookies and ate it.

Mine used to be eggs, but I will eat a hard fried egg. I think scrambled eggs are disgusting.

Oh, I know what it is. Cottage cheese. Why? Why would anyone eat anything that looked like that? I won't eat a lot of lasagna because some people use cottage cheese instead of ricotta. Gross.

I'd never heard of cottage cheese in lasagna.. but K just told me that she does that.. lol. Maybe it's a regional thing? Sounds bizarre to me hahah

that said I like cottage cheese :[ I try not to eat it though, because I will literally just eat the whole container like a pig. I usually get the pineapple kind, or like. dill.. or chive.. or well, all of them really. I just like it :P

I love cottage cheese. I used to eat tuna fish sandwiches all the time growing up but now can't stand it. Reminds me of cat food.
?
Mushrooms are GROSS...especially cooked...nasty and slimmy. And tomatoes...sick...unless they are green and fried. Weird I know.

herring... gross... and it's family tradition that every year on New Years eve have to eat 12 pieces, one for each month for good fortune... and the worse of it is that for years the only way i could get it down was with egg nog! Now, talk about a gross combo! haha

i agree on spam and cheese wiz - those foods don't happen "naturally"... Also not a huge lover of eggs... hubby loves eggs and makes breakfast every Saturday - I like my eggs with lots of veggies and he thinks he has to add more egg to it - I don't want to even see the egg! haha

I can't stand raisins - especially in dishes - same as marshmallows... fine on their own - but once add it to a salad - you have totally lost me. (one exception, Pistaschio fluff)...

tendons in meat... if I bit into something like that in chicken... I'm done with dinner.

Anchovies, sardines, any kind of fish in a tin... anything from the ocean really - the smell makes me want to puke.

And avocado.

Oatmeal: the smell, the look, the texture, the taste.

GAG.

Of course, DH eats oatmeal EVERY morning before breakfast.

He is required to eat it in a different room from wherever I happen to be.

I'm good on pretty much all of the above except the spam, anchovies and herring... I draw the line there.

Traci posted some kind of whole chicken in a can on Facebook yesterday that looked like it was probably worse than spam.

Mayo is a weird one for me. Just a faint smear of it on sandwiches... but I'm cool with it in chicken salad or tuna salad. But, not too much. Just a little.

What!!! It's a staple food item... though I'll admit you probably have to be brought up on it to appreciate how good it is, especially vegemite toast.

I'm convinced I must love gross food. Mushrooms are the best. In fact, I am obessed. Greek yogurt is awesome. And eggnog is my favorite holiday treat. I even put it in my coffee. Vegemite is odd, for sure but not bad. My Australian friend, James, made me eat it a few times. Anyways, I realize I'm probably annoying you all here. Haha...

Let me think of something I hate... hmmm... ok! Eggplant. Perhaps I haven't learned to cook it right, but it's too squishy and flavorless for me. Like... foamy? Bleh.

I wasn't thinking of anything in particular (I'm Chinese and can eat almost anything you throw at me) and then I saw... COTTAGE CHEESE. I totally agree. It looks and feels like puke. Why would anyone eat that? I used to have a classmate in college who would dip mandarin oranges in it and eat it in front of me, just to see me squirm. Yuck!

Durian too, both the taste and texture.

Oh durian... I'd forgotten about that. I first came across it on a trip to Malaysia many years ago - my Malaysian friends made me try it - GROSS!

Oven roasted eggplant, drizzled with olive oil - is divine!

I. love. spam.
Yes, I do. I love spam and eggs. I love spam with sticky rice.
I also love eggs fried, scrambled, hard boiled, deviled but never poached and soft boiled (blech).
I love greek yogurt, cottage cheese (especially with peaches), oatmeal, mushrooms.

What I don't like - seafood - any kind of seafood smells gross to me.

All of you who love mushrooms, OMG GAG ME! It's mostly a texture thing for me though. I also don't like the texture of tomatoes, but love the taste, so I have to chop them very fine and I LOVE onions, chopped raw or cooked, love love. and TUna, love tuna.

Jak - I do think you have to be brought up with vegimite or marmite to like it, I have never had even though I'm a born and bred kiwi

I have a few gross foods though, mushrooms, canned chicken, orange cheese (that I thought was grated carrot at a salad bar in Canada)

i love eggs, mushrooms, avocado, spam, tuna, frosting, onions peppers, oatmeal and i make my own yogurt and water kefir. i don't like milk kefir though.
i don't have a problem with the taste and texture of durian (not gross but neither like) it's the smell i can't stand, it won't go away.. burps, smell in the fridge, the container, the entire room...

i don't like bitter gourd, organ meats (liver, heart, lungs, etc), pork vein, balut (those that are way past looking like boiled eggs anymore), Never seen cottage cheese before.
