Default Qotd: Weekend! What are you doing this weekend? (12/8)

Weekend! What are you doing this weekend?

I'm having (again) the afternoon off from work.
I'm getting the house ready for Christmas. (I really look forward to that).
Tomorrow I'll be shopping and I hope to have time to scrap a little.

How about you?

Not sure yet to be honest. Thinking of getting my lab work done tomorrow morning then possibly going to see a movie but there is also a tasting demo I want to go to late Sun afternoon - I can’t go out both days, I just don’t have the energy

We're going to attend our first Christmas party for this year on Saturday afternoon.

We have playgroup today and dinner plans on Sunday evening, but not much in between. Weekends don't seem to matter much when your husband works shifts and you're a work-from-home mom!

Husband has homework to do, one daughter has a birthday party, we have a church party Saturday night. Then Sunday is a family Christmas party and church. Not super busy but definitely full.

We've been kinda sick around here so we'll probably have a fairly easy going weekend. Try to rest and get everyone feeling better again...that's the plan at least!

On Sat, going to our makeup basketball tryouts (my DH coaches), visit Santa (for my DD) and then head to Sedona in the evening to interview a student who is applying to my alma mater.

On Sun, leaving for Albuquerque for week long training. Not looking forward to going because I'll be away and I have a presentation on Mon (blah).

Crashing from my first week of work! I am so tired & worked so hard today with no lunch break. I'll be hitting the hay as soon as I finish responding to emails from the place where I volunteer.

It's supposed to snow between 4-6" inches tonight & tomorrow with high winds & low visibility so we'll be staying at home and waiting it out. The kids are thrilled that there will be enough snow to play in. I plan on staying in & catching up on my Countdown to Christmas album.

My daughter is singing in church Sunday morning, and then we're going to attempt to get our (live) Christmas tree as long as the weather and roads have cleared up by then.

If all goes well, we'll be snowed in tomorrow! (And just so we're clear, here in the Washington, DC area that means anything over 2 inches. Go ahead and laugh--I'm a transplanted New Englander and understand. But in our defense, we don't have enough snow removal equipment to keep up with it like they do in places that get more snow.)

This summer we packed up most of our main level to have it repainted and new floors put in. Then right after the painting was done we had some water damage and had to put off the flooring to space out the expenses. This week the flooring will FINALLY be put in! So we're going to spend a lot of this weekend clearing out everything that has crept back to the main level between July and now. There's a lot less to deal with than there was the first time we did it, but it's still going to take a while. And then next weekend, once the floors are done, we can finally bring everything back, hang things on the walls again, etc. We've been in limbo for months; I can't wait for it all to be done and for our house to feel lived in instead of somewhat sterile and empty.

My husband signed me up for a photography class through his unit. Although he just told me that it might not be with my DSLR, but with my phone I told him, I'm not wasting my day to learn how to take better photos with my phone when I thought I was going to learn my DSLR better. So we will see how the class is and what they are teaching. Fingers crossed it's for a camera and not a phone!
