Default self-tanners?

does anyone use any of the creams/at home stuff and have it actually look decent and not streaky or orange?

I'm always pasty white.. when i'm outside i just burn/go red.. I don't tan and I don't want to fake tan in the tanning beds but would like to have some color.

I have heard the Jergens Natural Glow stuff works without being streaky or orange:

http://www.jergens.com/products/natu...w/default.aspx

It does it gradually and doesnt make you shades darker. I tried it but I have kinda senseitive skin so it made me itch a little bit.

Embrace your ghostly self, Kristin!!!!! I do. DH prefers me pasty white, too LOL

I remember when we took Aiden in for a check up when he was a baby, and the dr. was really concerned that he was so pale..Russ and I looked at each other and said, "Um..do you not see that we're his parents?"

I'm pasty white, too, and have come to terms with it. When I did care (LOL) I used Sally Henson spray tan. It was much easier to get it even with the spray. I always liked the way it looked.

Me too lol. I have used the Jergens mentioned above but really looked a little too Dorito like for my taste. Prob cause I'm so pale to begin with lol!

I'm a firm believer in a little color. lol

Arbonne has really nice stuff Kristin and it doesn't give me headaches, which is a bonus. I always find that those self-tanning lotions have a smell that makes my head not happy.

The Arbonne is very natural looking as well. Or you could also try their bronzer and dust it on yourself. (I do that too)

I used the Jergens for a while and at first it looked natural-looking, but eventually it started looking orange to me. I would dry off after a shower and my towel would be orange. I stopped using it and stopped caring about whether I was tan or not. I sport a really good farmer's tan!

I have never tried any of these, but I am a believer in a little color too...I am one of those tanning bed folks {don't hate me}...I really don't go that much, but a little color on me really does help my skin and complexion....now my oldest DD is pasty white and it looks great on her, me not so much plus all my kids tan sooooo easily....

I'm super pale too, and have tried so many tanners and always end up orange. But last year I tried Dior Bronze and fell in love. It looks really natural on me and doesn't streak like so many seem to do. Totally love it!

There's a lotion brand (is it Jergens? or some other brand) where you apply it every day and it gradually builds up color, so you can control the "intensity." Or maybe you just need a soft "glow" of color?

Kristin - This one is very gradual, but if you put it on every day it will get darker. It smells good and doesn't leave the orange on your towel.

I actually prefer to be untanned, so no advice from me. :-) Darcy made me laugh with her comment, LOL.

I love the Comodynes self tanning wipes for a more instant tan if you need it for a party or whatever. Then the Decleor gradual glow bodylotion with a smidge of self tanning is great. Moisture and tan in one, but it's gradual so you won't turn brown over night. It's a bit pricey, but so good for winter skin.

I tried so many summer before last. Everything was either too orange or too olive for me and I got streaks whether it was lotion or spray, applied by hand or with a tanning mitt, etc. I gave up. I've been pale my entire life. I should just face it. My freckles just stand out so much in the summer and I hate them.

Have you tried one of the gradual glow body lotions? They've only got a teeny hint of colour so it's very subtle and you can build onto it when it starts getting tan.

I think it's hilarious that we Asians try so hard to get white and then you guys are trying to get darker!! How about a facial mask with snail secretion to make your skin pearly white?

Seriously though none of these whitening products ever worked on me. :/

I've used the Jergens stuff a few times. It works well but I've never used it enough to see whether it would eventually look orange.
