Default RQOTD - How long does it take for you to make a page?

You have your photo editing program open, you know what kit you are going to use (or which photos). Now how long does it take you on average to actually create your page and be completely finished?

I'm just curious if anyone can create a layout in less than a hour (or two).

If I have a kit chosen AND photos picked, I can probably do the rest in about an hour to 2 hours (provided I am not too easily distracted by Facebook & window shopping online!). I would say my average is 1.5-2 hours though, it is VERY rare I can do a page in under an hour. Although...maybe if I WEREN'T so easily distracted...

I can usually knock out a page in 35-45 minutes... but I'm easily distracted, so it's more like an hour...

if i am using a template and have the kit and photos picked out, i can sometimes get a page done in an hour and a half. but normally it's closer to 3 (or more ... )

I rarely take more than an hour, and generally if it is more than that it's something to do with the journaling.

30 mins or less most of the time. If it's heavy journaling, it might take 40 mins. I'm freaky fast.

I take an average of 1-2 hours, but maybe 2/3rds of that is actual work. The other third is me wandering around the house while I think about it or deal with the demands of kids & DH for food or rotate the wash... I rarely sit still from start to finish of a page.

I can probably do the kit and picture part in like an hour to an hour and a half. It's the dang journaling and title work that takes me forever. Often, I finish a page almost up and let the journaling part "marinate" (ha) in my brain for a little bit.

On average, I would have to say it takes me about an hour. I've done some pages in 20 minutes, while others have taken an hour and a half.

I'm probably around 2 hours probably. But, to be honest, I don't really know because I am rarely able to do a layout in one sitting. I'm always sneaking time in throughout the day. It usually takes me a day or two to take a layout from beginning to end because of all the interruptions in my life. Every now and then, I'll have an amazing day where I'm able to knock out 2–3 layouts in one day, but that is very very rare.

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one that doesn't often get time to just sit down and "knock out" a layout. I usually scrap at night while listening/watching TV with my husband. Facebook, work e-mail, a good show, and the kids needing things can really affect how much time I take to create a layout too! I usually need 1-2 hours, sometimes days if my mojo is gone.

Usually around 20 minutes or so although I've done some in as little as 10 - 15 minutes. If it's taking me 30 minutes or more, than it's because I'm struggling with it and it's not coming together. That's when I delete what I've got and start over from scratch.

I'm not a one sitting scrapper either. Templates take me longer, art journaling pages are the quickest for me. I'm not a fast scrapper, I've done some in a half hour but those are very rare, most of mine I'd say take an hour or three. It also depends on what I'm doing, if there's a lot of shadow tweaking or extracting, altering things, it's going to take me longer.

It just depends on how focused I am. Most times I get distracted or I have other things I need to walk away and do. If I have in mind what I want it to look like & no interruptions, an hour at most is all I will need. Anything less and I will look at the page for the extra time to make sure I really like it.

Lately it's been days, BUT, if I'm determined and the mojo is flowing, about 1/2 hr - 45 min

Since my pages tend to have a lot of layers, it would be a challenge for me to finish under 2 hours. I also change my mind a lot, lol.

I'm a snail, LOL. I do almost all my scrapping late at night once the kids (and often DH) are in bed. I probably average about 3 hours a LO, and between the scrapping itself and the photo/template/kit picking it takes me 2 evenings. But the last few months I've been struggling with mojo. I don't think the total amount of time I spend on a LO has increased that much, but I'm getting distracted and only spending a little time scrapping each night. So right now my 2 evenings per LO can easily stretch to 5 or 6 nights. I wish I could get past this!

Exactly this. 1 1/2 hours would be fast for me, usually it's closer to 3 (or sometimes longer, haha).

I'd be curious to know how many of you speedy speedersons use templates. I rarely do but I know when I use my own it definitely speeds up the process since the majority of the work is already done.

templates=faster, but even without templates I am usually a pretty fast scrapper..mostly because I alreayd tend to have things mapped out in my mind.

Oddly enough, templates have a tendency to slow me down because I feel less free. I feel like I have to put things where the template has them, and sometimes I get really stumped. It's not always that way, but it doesn't necessarily speed things up for me either.

Mine really varies, but I guess it would average out to about 2 hours.

It really varies for me. I'd say "Oh, if I use a template, then it takes less time," but that really isn't the case. Some of my pages with templates take me 45 minutes, and others take me 2 hours. Some of my pages without templates take me 45 minutes, some take me 2 hours. It really just depends on the content that I'm creating. Art journaling takes me less time than a normal page. Scrapping older events takes me longer, too, since there's more to try to remember about the event. Recent stuff, or stuff where I'm not journaling at all could take me less time-- but then again, recent pages like my bluegrass and barbecue page where I had a bajillion tiny strips took me forever to finish. It just depends for me...

I don't use a lot of templates, but I find they make little to no difference speed-wise. If anything, they slow me down a bit. I think the single most important thing that makes me speedy is that I can generally scrap without interruptions. That helps a lot.

I generally end up with about one an evening so maybe 2 hours or possibly less considering the FB checks, CT forums, etc I do at the same time. If I've had a little time to mentally consider the kit it might be an hour. I actually got two done this evening.

1.5-2hours for me. Thats with a template. If im working from scratch, forget it, i'll be staring at the screen for hours, and probably end up deleting it anyway. Im definitely a template lover!

At the moment I am only doing PL but even then it takes a good 2-3 hours which I don't get to do one week (that is using a template btw)

I've been using only templates lately and believe it or not it takes me longer to scrap with one, so right now if I have uninterrupted time I can usually get it done in an hour and 30 minutes. Months ago when I still had lots of mojo and I had uninterrupted time I could get a page done in 30 minutes!!! If I have other stuff I'm doing it can take me HOURS to get a page done!!!

It depends on the kind of page I'm making, some of my super-detailed ones with lots of layers and paper shapes (non-template) can take 3 hours. I'd say most of mine take about an hour. But recently I've gotten faster and can do a page in 30-40 minutes.
